don't expect them to be in knoxville for a while

They would come next year to cover Will Muschamp coaching the Vols against his alma mater UGA.

I noticed someone mentioned coming up for the game earlier in the thread. This game sold out several weeks ago. I saw a long time acquaintence last night who is an AU alum. He asked me if he could buy my tickets. Prepare for a scalper's paradise if you plan to attend this one.

I dont think Vandy wins this one.I believe Auburn is a better team than what they gave us.I think the off week that Vanderbilt had may disrupt their rhythm. Also Tuberville knows how to get his team up for marquee games.Just proves that he didnt take UT seriously...

Have we sunk that low, really? To the point we devaluate the Auburn Tigers so that we feel better about them gettin beat by Vandy. Vandy's having a great year so far, we all know they could lose the next 5 so.......Let's be the big man who can not only recognize Vandy for it's record but it's record over the Vols.

I say good for them. Some of my coworkers are Vandy supporters (when they win) and My boss is a Vandy grad. Might be a good time to suck up a little.

I'm not ready to crown Vanderbilt champion of the SEC East. Last year, South Carolina won their first 5 games, then lost the next 7, right?

I am sorry but, I find this hilarious. Maybe Hambone and the rest of the tools up in Knoxville will take notes. Although, I don't think Vandy stands a chance and I also believe they are fixing to head down the crapper. Every other week they lose two to three players from injury. I also think they have been fortunate from a pretty easy schedule so far. Miami(OH), Rice, USC-lite, and Ole Miss. With that said, if we were to play them right now with J. Crompton at the healm I would probably go into hiding for the next year.

Could Vandy become TN's new team?

I am pulling for Aubie....War Damn Eagle

Vandy plays solid defense and are very well coached on offense. As another poster pointed out Vandy has had injuries and are just getting some back while losing others. The fact that they have been successful says a lot to me about their ability to coach up players.

Their offense isn't impressive but they have gotten it done when needed. Their defense will keep them in this game. I'd actually like to see them pull this one out. I happen to like Johnson as a coach. It will be interesting to see what happens this weekend. The SEC has proven to be very competitive so far (us being the exemption).

Gameday at Vanderbilt? Are you serious??? They are a flash in the pan, and will lose a bunch of games when they play half decent teams.

Congrats to Vandy. They have played well enough to deserve it. I hope they demolish Auburn. Gotta have some in-state pride with this one.

I think Vandy beats Auburn. Auburn honestly didn't look that good to me, and Vandy is actually is building a home crowd again.

I certainly think it will not help the Vols reap patronage from the sidewalk alumni in Middle TN if Vandy continues to generate excitement while UTK continues to backslide. Doubly true if the backslide does not generate needed change at the top.

I heard Frank Wycheck opining that the new clock rules are helping tems like Vandy that usually play hard for three quarters and then wilt. Take 8-12 plays out of the game and everyone is fresher. The other hosts did not buy-in but it makes some sense to me. If there is anything to it then it just emphaizes the need for Xs and Os experts on the coaching staff.

I think this is great for Vandy. That said, I don't think they are a better team than UT. They just have a better QB. Much better actually. As far as that goes, Auburn is not better either. We should have won by at least 2 TD's. It's sad that we were inside the 50 almost the entire 2nd half and couldn't get 15 yards to kick a field goal because Crompton sucks. What's worse, Phil has his blinders on.

Tennis, I keep reading about everyone blaming Crompton, and he did look bad. But i cannot help thinking that if UTK could've got just one first down from midfield in the second half off three straight running plays and then picked up another 5-6 yards on three more runs then the game would've been on Lincoln's foot. Sort of an indictment of the running game I guess.

Maybe they should have run it a little more VHB, I will agree with that, but Crompton is so bad, I can't think about anything else. Thing is, if we had a decent QB, the pass plays we are calling would probably be effective.

I'd have to imagine any defense that went zero cover would be tough to run against but how do you expect to run against a quality D that absolutely, positively has no fear whatsoever of your QB being able to hurt them. By the 4th quarter they were playing fearless run defense. I expect nothing else from any team we play until at least the possibility of us hurting them through the air is demonstrated.

And God bless them but Vandy is living on more smoke and mirrors than any team I've ever seen. 4-0 while being ranked dead last in both offense and defense in the SEC has got to involve some sort of voodoo.

UT will never be threatened by a little academic type school like Vandy, with a small budget and no reputation. This year is an aberration. Once UT gets its coaching stabilized, things will be back to normal (i.e., blowouts of Vandy every year).

Well, I will be at the game. I am one of the Vandy fans that Dinardo hated. I am for Vandy every week except when they play Tennessee. I hope Vandy wins. The fans are starting to show up now. The kids are playing hard and it is always fun to see a team overachieve.
