College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

With yesterday's 17 point home loss to Washington, the Cal Golden Bears moved into sole possession of last place in the Pac 12. They are 2-14 in conference and 8-21 overall. Cuonzo is getting really good at not only leaving one year ahead of the ax but also getting a raise in the process. His stints at Tennessee and Cal were remarkably similar. Both 3 year stints, made the NCAA Tournament once and left an empty cupboard behind. He leaves you with the feeling that he did a better job than he really did.... and yes, I remember that Missouri beat us.

How many wins did Missouri have last year?

ETSU has now lost 3 in row, all at home. They lose to Furman 79-76.

And there was some discussion just a week or so ago that they might get in even if they didn't win their tourney because of their undefeated conference record.

How fast things can change

NC State dominating FSU. They’re playing really good basketball right now. One of the hottest teams in the country. If they keep it up, they’ll end up as a Q1 win for us

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. My guess is if they don't win their conference tournament, SD won't show up for another year.

Unless of course Donnie T assist-coaches another big Gatorade League Championship.

Big win for the Pack. NC St. is my favorite ACC team this year and it wouldn't shock me if they made the Sweet 16. U know last year, UT played all the Final 4 teams. I wouldn't be shocked if UT ends up, having played at least 6 of this year's Sweet 16 teams. Not sure what that means, other than Coach Barnes has done a he!! of a job scheduling good teams to help improve our RPI and SOS.

They've proven they can beat just about anyone.. Arizona, Duke, winning at UNC. Very dangerous team.

Only real game of consequence tonight is Texas Tech at WVU. TT is on a 3 game losing streak, and losing tonight would knock them below UT if they aren't already (I think they are). A home win for WVU keeps them hanging around in our rear view mirror but not enough to jump us.

You think Duke and Kansas are both too far ahead to catch? I would think a loss for either tonight and it remains a possibility...
