College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Made a S16 at UAB and an EE at Missouri and hasn't made a S16 at Arkansas. To me, it seems like his Arkansas teams haven't played defense as well as his old teams. Also, he has had trouble recruiting elite players, even ones in his own state.

He hasn’t won a tourney game yet at Arkansas. Really surprising.

Update on the A-Sun conference tournament which started yesterday.

#1 FGCU 96
#8 USC Upstate 76

#4 NJIT 76
#5 North Florida 80

#3 Jacksonville 87
#6 Kennesaw State 68

#2 Lipscomb 89
#7 Stetson 73

Matchups Thursday:
#1 FGCU v #5 North Florida
#2 Lipscomb v #3 Jacksonville

Seeding wise, anyone except FGCU will probably be a play-in game or 16 seed. FGCU will more than likely be a 15 but could sneak onto the 14 depending on how conference tournaments shake out.

Not as confident in FGCU as I have been in past years. Defense hasn’t been consistent enough this season and they could drop either of the next 2 games. Still guessing we will have a 1/2 championship game Sunday. Will update y’all on Thursday!

The Larry Eustachy era at Colorado State is officially over as the veteran head coach announced his resignation on Monday.

"At the end of the day it is time for me to step aside and allow Colorado State to open a new chapter of Rams basketball," Eustachy said in a statement. "Likewise, this also gives me a chance to hit the reset button and then put all my energy into future opportunities."

The news comes after the school launched an internal investigation of Eustachy's conduct and treatment of his players, the second such investigation of the coach in the past four years.

RICHMOND, Ky. - Eastern Kentucky has fired coach Dan McHale after three seasons and will begin a national search for his replacement. Assistant Reece Gaines will serve as acting coach.

McHale was 38-55 with the Colonels and 16-34 in Ohio Valley Conference play during his career. This year he EKU is 11-20 and 5-13 in league play. EKU failed to qualify for the league tournament each season after 13 consecutive appearances and championships in 2005, 2007 and 2014. Athletic director Stephen Lochmueller said in a release Monday that ''a change in leadership is needed at this time.''

McHale was a four-year student manager at Kentucky and served two stints on Louisville's staff under then-coach Rick Pitino. He was also an assistant coach at Iona College, Seton Hall and Minnesota.

Games of interest for Vols(bolded is who to root for)...

Saint Joseph’s vs. Rhode Island
Miami vs. North Carolina
Auburn vs. Arkansas

Biggest of these is definitely the Auburn/Arkansas game.

Reece Gaines...blast from the past. Dude was a Tennessee killer at Louisville.

Iowa State has had some near-great coaches pass through Ames. More than one just couldn't keep their **** in order.

After being picked to finish 11th Coach Figger led our dudes to a No. 3 seed in the OVC Tournament!
