College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Who are we pulling for in ok state-Kansas? Or does it even matter? I just want someone to pull for lol

I don't believe that we can pass Kansas. Instead it's much more likely that we will be battling Wichita St, and possibly WVU and TT on the seed line.

If Oklahoma St wins, they will become a Q1 win for Wichita St., West Virginia, and a Q2 win for West Virginia and Texas Tech.

Ok thanks for the answer

The committee has stated that is how they are looking at teams this year. They split the team sheets that way and it's a noticeable difference between the quadrants. So if we're picking a team to cheer for, it makes sense to cheer for an outcome which directly impacts the way the committee looks at teams. And it can be the difference between a single point difference in RPI. I don't like it, but that's how it is.

I hear you. I agree with you we probably can't catch Kansas so might as well look at it like you are but I just can't get past the fact that the top 16 didn't reflect the Q1 records as much as you are saying

Dumb ass flagrant call against Ga. awful call

Just stupid. Basketball just isn't what it used to be, and the officiating is getting intolerable.

There was a bad call late in Clemson-BC game that they mitigated with replay but had to still call the original foul.

I don't understand why Q1 ends at 30 at home and then goes to 75 in Q2. Certainly places a big emphasis on Q1.

For the most part they followed Q1 wins and road Q1 wins closer to that than anything else.

They aren't quartiles... not sure the rationale behind it. I think that only makes sense if there are natural divisions in quality at those points. But there is clearly not. So it seems somewhat arbitrary.

I think they started at the top of the major conferences and went from there. My case point is aubrun and MSU

MSU was a 3 seed in the initial Top 16 and haven't picked up a single Q1 win since then. They only picked up 1 Q2 win.

Correct and yet were 3 spots ahead of us. If Q1 record us so important how were they ahead of us?

And how was auburn at 5?

They've been ahead of us in the team sheet ranking.

I agree going off the quadrants isn't 100% correlated, but it for the most part it gave the closest indication, and was referenced by the commissioner for pretty much every team he spoke about.
