College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Arkansas has been in a lot of close games with sub-par competition. It’s early in the season, but at least to this point I find it hard to believe they are going to be the 3rd best team in the SEC.
Apparently, they have given up at least 13 threes every game. UNI has hit more than that. If that trend holds, we might do some damage against them this season.

Devonte Gaines had 12 for George Mason, Kim English new team and Gaines followed him. They are 4 and 0. English could get the UT job once Barnes retires

Went over to Vandy basketball forum. There were 15 posts about their game tonight and 18 posts about the arena now being cashless. At least they have their priorities straight. 😂

Mizzou will fire Counzo this or next year and likely hire English. I don’t think he’ll leave his own school for UT. Jmo

English would probably benefit by honing his head coaching skills at a lower level of competition before jumping into the SEC but you can’t turn down that cash

Why would anybody be surprised at the Vandy/VCU score. VCU has been a significantly better basketball program for years.

They were supposed to be better this year. VCU had several decent players from last year who left. They also just got smoked by Wagner…

VCU had been off to a really poor start this year though. Barely escaped against St Peter’s and was blown out at home by Wagner.

If we do shoot a ton of 3’s all year, we will have a game or two like this and a portion of our fan base will completely melt down. Unable to understand the basic math and variance around shooting percentages.
Yea, you just hope the timing is a game that isn’t in the tournament or is against a lesser team you can still beat. Baylor who led the nation in 3pt% last year at 41.3% averaging 10/24 a game from deep had 4 games they shot less than 30%, no coincidence that both of their losses came in those 4 games.

Yeah even the best teams. Baylor was the top 3pt shooting team last year. They went 3-19 against nova in the tourney. Still won obviously. In the big 12 tourney we’re 6-28 against OK St and lost. It happens

They shot 16% vs Nova in the S16
