College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

TeamRankings has us projected as a 1 seed with an overall record of 25-6

Certainly would be nice. But, that’s expecting a lot from this team. We still need to get some more consistency on offense. Last night was a good start. We have a favorable opening to the SEC schedule so hopefully we can build some momentum.

Arkansas having some significant roster injury issues early this season.

Yeah it sucks, of all years to have injury issues. Rumor is Smith is dealing with a nagging MCL issue so could be back by mid to late January but they obviously want to be cautious with him. Luckily the roster is very deep but can't replace guys like he and Brazile.

Yeah, our guy JJJ has been sidelined with a knee injury all year, too. Nasty stuff knee injuries. I hope both Smith and JJJ can make it back but I’m not holding my breathe for JJJ.

I almost wonder if this doesn't end up being a situation similar to that of Darius Garland or Michael Porter Jr?

Fear or further injury risk, and they just shut him down and he rests it or has surgery in order to prepare for the draft. It would suck for Arkansas, obviously, but we've seen this route taken by others before Smith who were projected to be top-10 picks.

Missouri wins 93-71. Wow. Did not see that happening. Hard to get a read on Mizzou but they are now 11-1 with a quality win on their resume and only loss is to Kansas. Pretty nice job by Gates in his first season.
They’re a high-scoring team, but Illinois has been up and down a bit. Sometimes a team that is built to score will get very hot and can beat a decent team because they outscore them. I still believe they’ll get gutted in the SEC, while pulling off a few upsets along the way.
