We were discussing SEC teams in another thread last week, noting that there seems like 5 likely teams to make it and then 3 more that could potentially make it from Missouri, Mississippi St, and LSU. Missouri is the one I think is the most likely of that bunch to make a run. They seem to have the most talent and depth of those three teams.Missouri looked impressive all night. They might be on to something out there, that’s a heck of a start by Gates.
What's the story with LSU? Completely new roster, right? I'm surprised they're not outright terrible.
No doubt they beat a really good Arkansas team; however I don’t thinks folks should buy in just yet.
They are 12-1………with 9 quad 4 wins, gaining their 1st Q1 win tonight.
They have simply played an extremely weak schedule. So far only playing 4 teams outside quad 4 (a loss to k-ST, a Q2 win and a Q3 win).
Again, definitely a good win……but who knows what they are or will be (because their schedule has been so terrible).
For reference: out of 363 D1 teams only Texas Tech and Fordham have even played more Quad 4 teams (each 10, Fordham 12-1, TT 10-2)…easy to win lots O games playing that many Q4 teams.
Yeah, I kind of think LSU's schedule is kind of by design to give the guys an opportunity to meld together. Not that it will help their cause when it comes seeding time or for them to make a case for themselves on the bubble, but it gave them an opportunity to learn each other against competition as they built confidence with wins.I kind of get a new coach playing a softer schedule, but shame on Texas Tech for playing 10 Q4 games. That’s ridiculous. That will also get you left out if you are on the bubble. I’m glad Barnes will play anyone.
What happened to them? lol
I had them winning it all this year.
They went to the title game last year by getting hot. Pretty sure they only beat two ranked teams last year, and one was Michigan, who ended up an 11 seed. If they don’t win at Duke in the last regular season game, they barely get in. Just don’t think they are that good.
Watching UK vs Louisville, and Huntley-Hatfield is just awful. I've seen him in spurts this year, and he wasn't impressive, but I figured (hoped) it was maybe just a bad moment that I caught him in. He hasn't developed a lack since leaving, and in fact, he looks worse. So sad.
