College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

I'm not a die hard hoops fan till March Madness, but I do keep up with it. So....How does a 13-3 Ckemson team that is 5-0 in ACC remain unranked while 4 ACC teams with slightly worse records are all ranked.

They've beaten no one and their 3 losses are all not great, with 2 of them being rather bad (SC and Loyola Chicago).

First time I’ve seen Arkansas this year - not really impressed so far. Am I missing something?

No. They haven’t looked impressive at all. They’re overrated. I do think a lot of it has to do with injury issues, but even before Brazile went down they weren’t exactly firing on all cylinders. I just think Muss is having trouble putting all these new pieces together. It’s pretty much an entirely new team.

They are also without Nick Smith Jr. for now. The loss of both he and Brazille is not insignificant. They are certainly missing them on both sides of the court.

Arkansas doesn’t have defenders who can keep up with Bama’s guards when they penetrate. They are driving and getting easy looks at will.

Well, to be honest, I’m not really counting Smith as a “loss” because he hasn’t been much of a contributor this year. He has only appeared in 4 games. Brazile was averaging around 30 MPG before the injury. Either way, based on what I’ve watched, with or without Smith they have been struggling to put all these pieces together and make it work.

I didn’t realize Nick Smith Junior had missed that much of the season. I thought I read an Arkansas article where it said he had played the first nine games. Maybe I just miss read it.

Both these teams have some great athletes but seems like a huge amount of iso type ball. Will be interesting to see how we stack up against them
