College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

I agree it's been done in the past, but they've been to 1 NCAAT (a play-in game) in the last 12 years. He's currently fighting some bad history and a reputation of a losing program. The coaches you mentioned coached during a time when Wake was mostly a regular fixture in the NCAAT. Bzdelik and Manning torpedoed that program over a decade. Forbes winning 25 games in year two after that run of futility was pretty remarkable.
It was, and seemed like upwards trajectory, but then you follow that up with a 19-20 win season and no trip the tourney and folks aren’t gonna have a great taste in their mouth…again, especially considering how down the ACC is.

Jerry Stackhouse has carefully diagnosed the problem against bama. Too bad we don't have this outside of the box thinking.

Jerry Stackhouse says Vanderbilt will not eat Hibachi again after 57-point Alabama loss

“I thought we had a really, really good shootaround,” Stackhouse said. “Guys were live. We did break our routine a little bit from last night. The trainer’s was felt like we’ve had a lot of practices, a lot of games in quite a few days so felt like it might be good to take the night off. We took the night off and instead of going to the gym and getting some shots, we tried to a team event. Went to Hibachi Steakhouse. So I guess we won’t be going back to hibachi anytime soon. We just make sure that we try to get back to our routine next time out.

If it were most other coaches I would say he's being a bit sarcastic, but with him who knows.
It’s not entirely ridiculous to build a bit of superstition into explaining that result. He doesn’t want his players to walk out of that game thinking it’s an accurate reflection of their talent level.

Kansas and UVA already with losses today. Purdue down double digits in the first half. I’m gonna go ahead and assume Alabama and Arizona will win today. I think we’re 100% still in the top 5 come Monday unless Kansas State were to win and they bump them ahead of us.

I believe Purdue, Houston, Alabama, and Arizona will be ahead of us. We’ll be either 5 or 6 come Monday more than likely.

That sounds about right. I presume Houston back to #1? Followed by Alabama back at #2?

Honestly, I’m not so sure that Purdue will drop. If they do, it’ll be to #2 at the most. Alabama won’t jump Purdue.

Edit: **Unless Purdue gets beat quite handily then maybe Houston will jump back up to #1

Clemson down 4 without the ball with 21 seconds left. Already likely but if Clemson loses then almost a sure thing Missouri is a top 25 game next Saturday if they win today

I dont think K State goes ahead of us regardless. Lost by double digits earlier this week, five spots back of us. I dont see it

Aren’t they already going to be with Auburn being all the way down at #25 and losing today? (Presuming Missouri were not to lose today).

Yeah most likely. Maybe auburn gets benefit of the doubt with a close (albeit ugly) game against a top ten team on the road. Either way probably just need Mizzou to win. But if not, Clemson now down two with one second left, Miami ball

Miami wins, Clemson suffers second loss of the week, will drop out of the poll

They blew their lead, and are trailing rn. I didn’t think they would either but they would be the only other team possible.
