He is awesome, would’ve killed to get him out of the portal. Watching him and Maldonado at Wyoming a few years ago got me through a lot of late nights. That was a very fun team.I wanted Ike out of the portal, both last year when he entered and the year before when he stayed at Wyoming. Really good player and has some Awaka to his game. A more polished offensive player than Tobe.
Who does the Zags have? (Serious question)
I usually know a few, but this year, just Nembhard
Looking more and more likely we are going to play Purdue likely without Awaka. Not sure I feel so good about that gamePurdue has played really, really well in the 2nd half. Found an extra gear and the Zags have struggled to answer. This tale of two halves has basically described Purdue as a team perfectly. First half, all Edey and 1-9 from 3 with no guard help. Now, Purdue’s guards have taken over and they surge to a nice lead.
Shutting down their guard play is the key to beating Purdue.

Been thinking this all day. I don’t hate the idea of throwing JJJ out there some at the 5, even if Edey is on the court. Try to run him to death early and we may even get a few cheap fouls on rebounds.I’m honestly not sure how much of a difference Awaka would make. He’s “only” 6’8” and would be a mismatch with Edey. This is a game you are going to want to play Aidoo a bunch, hope he rebounds well, and then go small.
Honestly, wouldn’t be shocked to see us run a LOT of small ball lineups tomorrow to try and run Edey up and down the court and keep up with their guards. I’m not really worried about Edey. The other players are the ones you need to shut down.
Aidoo has played well against some big men. He is looking improved this year, specifically the handle on the ball looks better and he seems to attach the rim a bit better.I’m honestly not sure how much of a difference Awaka would make.
