College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

I’d rather have Purdue than Kansas. I felt like we were the better team watching the Purdue game. I did not get that feeling watching us play Kansas.

Have you watched Kansas play recently? We caught them at their peak. They are not an elite basketball team. If we got Kansas in an E8 matchup, I’d feel pretty good about winning. Would vastly prefer to face them over Purdue.

I watched them and Iowa State play some. The KU defense is better than SC’s and we saw how we did against them.

After watching Kennedy Chandler crying on the court once his season was ended by Hunter Dickinson, I never want to watch a basketball game involving him ever again. KC was probably one of my all-time favorite UT basketball players, that game hurt pretty bad.

How we going to be feeling 48 hours from now, folks? My gut feeling is that Kentucky will play a lot better than it did against Florida, but I also think we will play a lot better than we did against SC.

History says that Kentucky is going to make a lot of tough shots against us and that we will have to be on our A game on the offensive end to pull this one off. Seems like we are due for that kind of offensive game after we’ve dropped clunkers in three of our last four halves of basketball.

Recent podcast by Aaron Torres has Beard, Mussellman and Tang as the leading candidates for the Louisville job if Kenny Payne gets fired after this season.

There’s quite the mess going on in that locker room, not sure if/when it all comes out but you can find some various rumblings about it online.

Those rumblings almost seem too wild to be true. On the flip side, the rumblings are too specific to not be at least somewhat true. Definitely would make for an unmanageable locker room.

Seems like teams that completely overhaul their rosters every year are likely to have a chemistry issue in some years. No veteran leadership to set the program standards and provide culture continuity.

One of Tennessee or Kentucky will be going 0-2 this week. Did not see that happening.

I just hope that there isn't a complete meltdown here if the Vols lose tomorrow (yeah, good luck with that). It's barely February, and there's a ton of ball still to be played.

CBB has never been deeper, and upsets seem to happen daily. The days of 30-win teams are history - the key is to be healthy and playing well heading into March. This is a solid, veteran group that finally has a real weapon. We'll be fine.

Having said all that, I have a feeling we're going to respond in a big way tomorrow.

I have always wanted to see how he would do in the NBA, since his Nevada days.
You know he was an NBA coach with the Warriors and Kings long before his Nevada days, right? Three seasons as an NBA coach, 3 losing records. Career 108-138 record and never made the playoffs.
