College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Kansas losing by 30 to an unranked team, doesn’t even crack 50 points total…Kansas sucks, so overrated, Self has coached his guys too hard and worn them out, they’re soft and will be sent home early in March, they deserve a 5/6 seed not a 2 seed, time to bench their veterans and play the young guys more, nobody else that’s good plays like this ever, time to consider a coaching change.

Did I miss anything?

“Barnes is coaching his players too hard.”

You forgot to mention that they probably went on a 3 minute stretch without scoring. No good team does that or will ever do that.

Self is just coasting to retirement

Like I've been saying, I don't think this loss is really THAT big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. Seems like we have a little wiggle room in terms of being right there on that 2 line but this loss obviously gives the coaches a lot of stuff to go over and correct before March. Games like that happen in college Basketball. Finish 7-2 and we're still right there in the conversation for the last one depending on how other teams finish as well.

Gotta say....if JJJ and Vescovi pull a disappearing act at the wrong time, both those teams will outlast us....easily.

Aside from the Kentucky game, JJJ has been mostly a non factor in conference play in terms of scoring, so I don’t know that a disappearing act from him is meaningful as long as he’s rebounding and defending.

X factor for this team is Aidoo. Far more times than not, everything else falls into place when Jonas Aidoo plays well. If he plays well in the tournament, this team has a chance to go far. If he gets pushed around, this team may not last long.

Texas Tech had a guy go 12-12 from the field for 30 points. He was averaging just 10 ppg before that game. Basketball is a funny game, especially for highly ranked teams on the road.
Why can’t JJJ do that consistently for us? He’s a 5* recruit in his fifth season!

What Cornbread said. He's clearly coasting to retirement!

Not if DK, Gainey, Aidoo, and ZZZ are scoring well. We have more guys who can score this year than just SV & JJJ

Gainey has not been dependable. He's had a couple of decent shooting games recently--his first of the season, really--but then had another bad night against A&M (1 for 5). Aidoo's scoring has been solid but he did little in the last game. We will need Vescovi and James to play well, and score some, if we hope to advance in the NCAA--that's all there is to it. They're both vets, they're both talented, James is physical---we will need these guys, for sure.

We need all 8 of our rotation to play well to reach our tournament potential. We can still win games if 4 of the 8 are having a strong scoring game.
