College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Marquette in a tight one @ Butler at half. Syracuse leading UNC by 8, 7 minutes in. Could be another huge opportunity for us this week, along with KU taking a huge loss last night.

Syracuse takes down North Carolina at home and gives Tennessee a chance to move up in the rankings next week.

I’d say Arizona has, by far, the best chance at the last 1 seed right now. They’ve got a much easier schedule than us or Marquette (who still has to play UCONN and Xavier twice and Providence once). Now if UT or Marquette gets hot and goes 7-1 or 8-0 over their final stretch, there may be a good argument over the last 1 seed, but Arizona will likely have to slip up 1-2 times against far inferior teams to fall off the 1 line.
Iowa State could make a case as well. If they win at Houston on the 19th, that's a sweep over one of the current one seeds. Aside from that game, their toughest remaining games are at home, where they are dominant. Their non-conference was trash, so that would be an obstacle to overcome, but they have the opportunities.

I believe the 1-seed line is starting to take shape. Not completely set in stone but with Arizona’s remaining schedule, they should stay on the 1-line. I don’t see Marquette or North Carolina making a final run. Tennessee will have to go at the very least 7-1 to have a chance. But I’m fine with a 2-seed and just playing good ball at the right time.
