Eh don't think Indiana fires Woodson, actually believe Enfield keeps his job at USC.He went back to Butler. I suppose history could repeat itself.
There could be no shortage of big jobs open: Ohio State, Louisville, Indiana, Vandy, Michigan, USC, which would cause a ripple effect.
Vanderbilt may be in the SEC but they are not a big job. They are only in the SEC due to being a founding member. Everyone considers Vanderbilt to be a G5 school outside of being an SEC member. They don’t take athletics seriously so why should anyone else take them seriously? It’s an SEC job - unless you’re Gonzaga or Memphis, anything in the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Big East, SEC, or Pac 12 (for now) is a major program.
You can’t see past orange-tinted glasses, but that’s fine. We’ll agree to disagree.Vanderbilt may be in the SEC but they are not a big job. They are only in the SEC due to being a founding member. They’re paying their coach $3million plus a year - seems like a pretty BIG job to me? ButVanderbilt may be in the SEC but they are not a big job. Your analogy makes no sense. Our last 4 football coaches way underperformed - doesn’t mean UT’s football coach isn’t still a big job? Name a college basketball coach besides Vandy getting paid $3 million plus that’s not a big job. The more the pay the bigger the job.Their last 2 coaches have won like 45% of their games combined. Yeah that’s a big job![]()
Louisville’s last two coaches have won 20% of their games. Is that a big job?
Georgetown’s last two coaches have won 40% of their games. Is that a big job?
I’ll hang up and listen.
I was being facetious to the original poster, who said Vandy wasn’t a big job because their last two coaches had only won 45% of their games.Interesting debate but in my opinion the Louisville job will always be better than the Georgetown job. The groundwork is there for UofL to return to being a power, I'm not as confident in Gtown.
Just because you get paid well doesn’t mean it is a big time job. They are about to be 7 straight years without a NCAAT appearance and they have top talent transferring out of the program on an annual basis. That is not the definition of a big time program. A big time program stays inside the top 25 and makes the NCAAT on a consistent basis. Vanderbilt is not thatYour analogy makes no sense. It's in a Power 5 or soon to be 4 conference.Vandy a big job![]()
Rick Pitino put Louisville on the map for modern basketball. So no I would not consider them a big time program. There is a reason Chris Mack left. If they are such a big program then why did he leave? Oh yeah, UCLA was an actual big time job so he left.Louisville’s last two coaches have won 20% of their games. Is that a big job?

*only due to conference affiliation. If Vanderbilt were in another conference they would literally be nothing. Would you rather be the worst team in the SEC or the best team in the AAC? Pretty simple answer there. It's in a Power 5 or soon to be 4 conference.
So yes to some it's a big time job, only due to conference association.
Mid Major coaches would slobber over Vandy.
They're sitting on edge of their seat waiting on the next Kevin Stallings to take the job.
But some also believe UCONN isn't a Blue blood even though they're tied for 4th all time in NCAA Championships.
This is laughable. Louisville has ten Final Fours, three national titles, the sixth most tournament appearances of all time, and had two HOF coaches from 1971-2017, but they aren’t a big job.Rick Pitino put Louisville on the map for modern basketball. Georgetown has been awful for several years now. Once again, they are not a big time program. The bare minimum should be to make the tournament every three years. They can’t even do that. The last time they legitimately made a tournament without the help of an automatic bid was 2014-15. No that isn’t a big time job currently.

They are on pace for their 2nd consecutive 20-loss season. They are not a destination spot currently. If you want to live in the past and consider them a big time spot then so be it. I’m not considering a program with 25 wins over 3 seasons to be a big time job right now. Sorry but those are the facts. This is laughable. Louisville has ten Final Fours, three national titles, the sixth most tournament appearances of all time, and had two HOF coaches from 1971-2017, but they aren’t a big job.
I also have no idea what Chris Mack and UCLA have to do with this, but that shows me the depth, or lack thereof, of your basketball knowledge.
