College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

And that’s going to be the impetus for the NCAA to formally ban court/field storming.

I guess they’ll wait and see how bad the injury is and if he was over-selling it or not. Hard to tell from the video. He definitely got ran into. Still, Wake Forest fans were already running on the court when there was still like 1st second left on the clock and the security did very little to give Duke’s players time to get off the court.

Sure didn’t look like much happened with Flipowski and I replayed it several times. Any chance he’s faking it a bit?

Could be. He definitely got ran into. He flopped a lot in our game last year. I think he’s generally not got the best attitude. But I don’t want to just assume he’s faking it until we see how bad the injury is. He got carried off the court.

Looks like the WF student ran straight for him, and then Filipkowski gave him a forearm shove in retaliation, and then things spiraled. Definitely some blame on Filipkowski’s part as well, but that WF student is dumb for not just avoiding him and running around him.

Looks to me like the student was running past Flip who decided to deliver a forearm shiver? Still don’t see the leg injury?

With players getting hurt, they are really going to start cracking down on court storming, you'd think.

Court storming used to be a rare occurrence, but with top teams dropping left and right these days it’s happening multiple times a week. They are either going to have to ban it or find a way to make things more secure unless they want more injuries happening.

As much as I dislike KF, I don't blame him one bit. The rushing the floor nonsense has got to stop. Someone is going to get seriously hurt in one of these situations, either fan or player. Only one of those two belong on the playing surface, though, so kind of hard to blame players unless they go looking for a fight.

More teams upset by unranked then I've seen in .. ever? I have to think it's happening more due to the portal and making teams a bit more competitive.

Right, I get why it's happening, but there's a reason the SEC fines every team that does it; because it's highly discouraged for a number of reasons. Parity has certainly created more opportunity for upsets. Many of those are only upsets in the academic sense, anymore. Home court advantage is as beneficial as its ever been it seems like, and as you mentioned, we've seen a ton of these top-10 teams losing to unranked opponents on the road this year (a losing record by a wide margin, IIRC).

Plus it's not like Louisville upset Duke, it's Wake a borderline NCAA tournament team.
Act like you been there before. Nice victory but court storming a little much.
