I hear you, man. But, there was much more to the Green narrative than him winning 20 or more games for 4 years.Imagine turning on a coach that won 20+ games every year he was here....got to the tourney every year...got the program to their first ever sweet 16 and finished with an 89-36 record. Green told the fans to shove it and I didn't blame him at all...especially having to sit through the Houston and Oneill years before he got here.
For starters, his teams seemed to underachieve based on the talent level.
Secondly, he was thin-skinned and wasn't a good fit for this area. Exhibit A is him making comments about fans can just go to K-Mart if they don't want to attend games (or something to that effect).
I've followed UT basketball since the mid-DeVoe years, sat through the misery of the Houston era, and was optimistic about the program's future during the O'Neill years. I can honestly say I was glad when Green was shown the door.
