Okay this is definitely going to be a hot take given how we have been dumped on by the national media and our fanbase for the past 48 hours BUT, I believe that if the committee had us as a 1 seed on Wednesday and Carolina loses tonight, then we are still a 1 seed come tomorrow night. I don’t believe wins against Pittsburgh and FSU move the needle at all and the committee has shown that they don’t care about conference tourneys.

More likely possibility of them getting cute and giving Iowa State a #1 seed. But their pre tourney SOS was weak.

But North Carolina did advance in their conference tournament to the championship game, and they have more Q1 wins than us. Granted, they have more Q2 losses than we do, but the thumping MSU gave us moved the needle.

We got bent over a barrel and shown the 50 states on national TV. It’s as much how we looked as much as it is the quality of opponent. We aren’t getting a 1. The Committee would get rightfully lambasted if they gave us a 1 at this point. We don’t deserve it.

They care this season. Lunardi has sad as much and as bad as he is with getting the seedlings right, he was one of the first to say our conference tournament championship a few years ago didn’t matter. So if he says it matters this season, it matters.

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that we get a 1 after the UNC loss, but the justification for picking UNC can always be the head to head. I don't think we'll get it, but the fact that every other supposed 1 seed besides UConn went down, and Kentucky, Duke, and Arizona as well, has to mute our loss to some degree.

NC State getting loose with the ball…but man I wish things had worked out for Burns here. I know he didn’t really fit in with the Barnes culture from a defense and staying in top top shape perspective, but he’s a tremendously skilled big man.
