College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

This Mizzou/Kansas game is crazy. The arena is rocking. Kansas has terrible guard play and is obviously overrated. Mizzou also might be better than everyone thought.

Edit: If Mizzou blows this, it’ll be a choke job of epic proportions. Amazing how both teams have practically switched places.
A lot of folks don’t know just how good his freshman class is. I figured they would be pretty good this year. It’s just that the SEC has elevated its game as well.

Yep. Also, very classy move by their coach to call the timeout allowing the Kansas players to get off the floor before the

Would love to know the last time a head coach in his first 3 years has had as drastic of a swing between seasons as Dennis Gates.

Year 1 takes a struggling Mizzou program to the NCAA and a Top 5 finish in the SEC.

Year 2 he goes 0-18 in conference.

Year 3 he starts 8-1 after blowing out #1 Kansas.
Last years team had players who just wanted to come down and shoot 3’s. They couldn’t throw it in the ocean from the beach. This years team wants to go inside and attack the rim with much better results.

Handling the Vols this season is a greater task than last season especially on the road.

This year's edition has 3 quality scorers starting and 2 sufficient subs that can put the ball in the hoop. Instead of waiting around for DK to go bat **** crazy on the Offensive end we got Chaz,Igor and ZZ .

Yes, I'm mad because I lost money. But, Illinois are average, at best. Vols by 10+, easy
Don’t forget, they played Northwestern on the road. NW has been a pretty good home team the last couple of years, including beating Purdue there last year if I recall correctly. Playing Illinois at their place is very different. I agree we’re better though. It’ll be a tough game.

Not to mention Gainey and Phillips are capable scorers as well.

The fact that they lost to Northwestern on the road will have no bearings on our game with them. I'm still amazed at how many fans still don't understand how tough road basketball is.
