College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

BJ Edwards, former TN guard now averaging 10.6 PPG for SMU, scored 19 in a win against Georgia Tech yesterday.

Could’ve possibly been a solid backup PG option for ZZ if he stayed but glad he landed with Rob Lanier when he took the SMU job a few years back.

Looks like there’s a serious flaw in the NET rankings. How in the world could Houston be ranked ahead of us?

Houston is 12-3 overall while we’re 15-1.
Houston is 0-3 vs Quad 1 while we’re 4-1.
Quad 2 they’re 5-0 while we’re 1-0.
Quad 3 they’re 3-0 while we’re 4-0.
Quad 4 they’re 4-0 while we’re 6-0.
I get this looks they’ve played a better overall schedule but they’ve also performed worse against that better schedule. Any thoughts as to how they’re ahead of us?

Bludgeoning bad teams most likely. If I had to guess.

Yes, Edwards is playing well under Andy Enfield the SMU HC now. Rob Lanier is HC at Rice University at the present time.

This, and a better overall strength of schedule so far. Houston's losses are by a combined 13 points to Auburn, Alabama, and San Diego St. In the NET, they are #3 and we're #4. This isn't a big deal so no need to get worked up over it.

The way we got beat at Florida. The margin in that loss for us is larger than the losses for Houston combined (was 13 combined points, I think)

I didn’t think MOV, especially in 1 game, would matter that much but maybe it does. That would be the only thing that would make some sense I guess.

Georgia has #17 defense & Miss St has #17 offense. Hopefully we go 3-0 this next stretch, but both teams have top 25 resumes. Even Vandy, the "easy" one, is just #52 kenpom.

Maybe you should let Barnes know to forfeit since you know we’re going to lose.
Vols will be in trouble does not equal 100% loss. But if you are watching how we've played last couple of games and how Auburn is playing without Broome then I don't know what to tell you that playing on the road there will be a beast.

So if two off-ball players collide like just happened when neither team has possession, how do they determine who the foul was on?

O wait, on the replay (from a different angle) I just noticed the elbow. 😆

On the other hand, you could make a case that Louisville is the 2nd best team in the ACC right now. That win looks better by the day for us.
