College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Y’all know what Bruce does best? He makes his players believe they are the best on the planet. He makes the crowd believe. And he rides the momentum.

I’m not sure how great he is as an actual “coach” but his players are playing fearless this year.

Completely agree. Surprised he couldn't do it sooner but his team is playing "UP" without a doubt

He creates and rides positive momentum like nobody I’ve ever seen. I think at the root of the Tennessee fan love for him that is what is the most loved.

He’s a great motivator & recruiter who gets the most out of his players, no one is denying that.

However, his inability to stay out of trouble from the NCAA makes me question his character.

A lot of coaches obviously cheat but he’s the dumbest cheater in the game right now.

After what he put us through by lying and making UT look stupid in front of the world, I can’t look at him the same way again.

It’s nothing personal but he made his bed.

I don’t care about him as an auburn coach or about him personally but I appreciate his time here. Funnest 6 years of UTBB of my life.

Oh definitely, I do appreciate his time as UT’s HC.

He did some great things here and wished he could have went on longer than he did.

I just wished he didn’t purposely lie to the NCAA & his employer.

It’s one thing to make a mistake but not owning up to it is kind of crappy on his part.

But he was a fun coach who brought energy to his players.

I know Pearl will always love the VOLS, and I love him for it. I remember he wept when he heard the Tennessee Waltz the first time he came back (As Auburn's head coach). He adored Pat. I just wish things had been different.

But.. I really love Rick Barnes. So happy to make 20 wins tonight.

Sorry, like lurker here

Even that pisses me off. The walls are closing in on him at Auburn and in response they appear to be circling the wagons and getting it done (except the SC game).

Here it happened and we fell apart.

Winning is new to them. They can embrace one shining moment knowing it's over with more enthusiasm than a program that had already arrived

In spite of an aching elbow I went to the CN vs. LMU dblhdr. last night. Two of the worst officiated games I've ever witnessed. LMU's ladies exploded in the third to take a 19 point lead and then the refs got their whistles stuck on blow. Made us extremely confused and tentative but we held on for the win. Only the 2nd loss for CN.
The men started slow and the Eagles played well early while two of the oldest officials in the SAC made total asses of themselves with wrong, missed and bizarre calls. Time for both to hang it up. Play was stopped several times especially due to our players being bloodied (nose, face, knees) Refs were close to letting it get out of hand.

Lincoln Memorial University- No. 1 Railsplitters rally to beat Carson-Newman 89-77 and clinch share of sixth straight SAC regular-season title

Lincoln Memorial University- Lady Railsplitters survive late scare to stun third-ranked Carson-Newman, 89-87

We play Queens in Harrogate Sat. for sole conference title. Ladies at 2 men at 4. Queens men have one loss. To us by one.
ADMISSION IS FREE.

No real games of note tonight. Probably the one worth paying most attention to is Arizona at Oregon State. UA is favored by 6.

As for previous opponents of ours, Purdue is a heavy favorite at Illinois, Presbyterian hosts Gardner Webb which is essentially a tossup. High Point and Lipscomb are both at home and are heavy favorites.

So a slow day...

On paper, I actually like Oregon State's matchup against Arizona. And in their previous meeting in Tuscon, OSU lead near the midway mark of the 2nd half. And ended up only losing by 9. I don't think they'll win, but if they can keep from turning it over much, especially Thompson their PG, I think they will have a shot.
