College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Again, I’ll bring up the same hypothetical.

You don’t think if Tennessee won the sec tournament beating auburn and Florida, that they wouldn’t get the #1 seed?

We’re talking possibility not probability.

The last thing in the world I would place a bet on is who is going to win the sec tournament.

But, IMO, Tennessee controls its own destiny

0% chance. Of either winning it or the 1 seed.
He's wrong about winning the tournament. If Flordia wins Saturday we will not get a #1 seed even if we won the SEC Tournament.
Which is highly unlikely anyways.
I say mail it in and rest all the players.
I know Barnes would perfer that. He's basically said as much.

Nah. Not with UF having 2 less regular season losses.

just blew a gasket at one of my Clemson friends. Ive had enough of him and enough of their ****
Bro, there is NO WAY I let a Clemson fan try to talk sh!t about us. That game was to the wire and we were almost a #1 seed in the toughest conference probably of all time.
Lol tell them to come on this site/thread and talk to us! 😀

If it’s after Friday no it’s not.
If lunardi can change his bracket in 5 minutes after the Tennessee-Ole miss game, so can the committee.

We’ll all just agree to disagree and it’s a hypothetical we can never prove (unless Tennessee wins the tournament or gets to the final), but I believe Tennessee can still be the #1 seed.

What are the odds? I have no idea

You don’t know that he does or doesn’t have a source. You assume he does because he’s fairly accurate. However he also studies this stuff religiously, knows the committee principles like the back of his hand, and has made a living as a pretty good prognosticator. Maybe he’s just really good at his job? I’ll go on the record as saying he doesn’t have an inside source.
I don’t really care if you do or not. He was adamant we weren’t getting a 2 seed in 2022. It was discussed multiple times. Just like Heather Dinich with the CFP. They need an unofficial mouthpiece to get stories out there. She had the article up about how the committee chose Bama over FSU within a day or so. It was being written because they needed her to publish it.

Lunardi is actually not close to being accurate compared to many others. He’s found his niche, and I’m confident in saying that he has connections.

I know you don’t care, and I don’t care that you don’t care. Argue all you want, I still think you’re wrong. I’m confident he doesn’t have an inside source.

Frankly, you were the one that said that I have no idea. Well, you don’t either. I just think the signs are out there. He knows people.

You are wrong about the committee.

But you are correct that the 1 seed is still in play. IF Florida losses either of their next two, and Tennessee wins both, IMO it becomes a toss up.

If UF goes 0-2 and we go 2-0 it’s probably a lock we get the #1

We have examples of it not mattering, why think it randomly will this year?

Because the circumstances of this particular year make it so.

Like I said earlier, it’s amazing how quickly after the ole miss game ended everyone’s bracket changed

To me, it proves two things. How close people think these two particular teams are and that changing the bracket in mere moments can be done.

So, I believe, for example, if Tennessee beat Florida on Saturday of the SEC tournament, there is plenty of time to change the seeds of these two teams

That’s how I see it. Doesn’t mean I’m right, but that’s what I think

This just isn’t how I logically process it. I don’t think the committee is locking in their brackets on Friday before selection Sunday because of an effort issue.

I think it has to do with logistics and the practicality of how changing even just two teams can totally send the entire bracket into chaos when it comes to regions, playing locations etc…

We’ll never know. But if what you were saying were true, UT by its self would have had a better seed in at least 3 of the last 8 years. And that’s just anecdotal to us only. Let alone all the other teams we’ve all seen it happen to

Bro, you forgetting about Michigan State, too.
What if they stay undefeated and win the Big 10?
They would have more Quad 1 wins than Tennessee or Flordia.
You think the Committee jumps them over Tennessee and Florida?
Probably not because the 2 quad losses but just saying even if they didn't have those the Committee doesn't necessarily care who wins the Conference titles

I would love to think that, as I said though history suggests that’s not the case.

Nope.
