College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Texas and Xavier look very evenly matched to start the game.
Size and style wise.

Edit: Not anymore. Texas starting to pull away.
It's going to be interesting to see how the rest of the field handles the level of physical play the SEC can bring. It very well could be the brutal schedule everyone in our conference played could pay dividends.

Xavier made a little run late by getting out and putting heavy pressure on Texas's guards. I think this ends up a tight game at the end.

Oof....Texas had to get that last rebound. Let too much time go off without fouling, so they had to have that. Looks like they aren't making the field of 64 after all.

I said several times this Texas team wasn’t good and didn’t deserve to be in the NCAA tournament.
This Xavier team gives KY more trouble anyways, IMO. If they end up beating Illinois, I could see them beating KY.

Texas played well. It was just a road game for them. Xavier was making ridiculous 3s with momentum on their side. Rodney Terry should have called a timeout though.

Kentucky is happy though. They didn't want to face Texas. They recently lost to them.

I don't know if they necessarily happy.
Texas did beat them but if you watched that game it was more KY collapsing in the end of that game than anything.
They are familiar with Texas and Xavier brings that X factor in the fact they haven't played them this year. Capable of hanging in there in a 3 point contest, too.
But I mean you could be right, but if it was me/Tennessee I'd rather be playing Texas than Xavier.

lol...I'm telling you man, not using time-outs wisely can and will cost you a basketball game.
I understand why Barnes chooses to pocket his timeouts. He wants his team to grow stronger from playing in those tough, momentum swinging stretches and learn to stop the bleeding themselves. Plus Barnes likes saving the timeouts for critical times at the end of the game.

But, come tournament time, you have to call those timeouts early. We almost surrendered the lead we held against Auburn becuase we let them string some 3s together near the end of the gane instead of calling a timeout. The pressure can be overwhelming. And the adrenaline can cause an opponent to play with their head on fire.
