Colorado discussing move to Big 12

Funny that after a decade, they are going back to their original league. Wasn't Colorado the first school to even leave the Big12 and start the realignment mess?

Nebraska and Colorado moved in 2011 not sure who was 1st

I think Colorado was first. Although Missouri was the first team to start looking and went public with it (they wanted to go to B1G but B1G wouldn't accept them). In private, I think Nebraska was really the first one but Colorado left first.

Interesting move as both the Pac 12 and Big 12 don't appear to be great places to be for the long term. I wonder if Nebraska wants to come back to the Big 12 now that Texas will be gone. Surely they realize by now that the Big 10 isn't home.

Big12 won't make B1G or SEC $$$ but they are stable now with the new G5 additions. I think the Big12 will survive while Pac12 folds.

The Big XII will be fine as a top also-ran conference. The Pac is in deep trouble.

Not a chance. The gap in revenue is way too vast.

I kinda miss watching OU vs Nebraska play. Damn shame to see these types of match-ups disappear. Not a big fan of expansion.

I think everyone agrees. I feel like 2001 or so was the most healthy setup. I miss having a Northeast league (Big East). Big East was probably not strong enough. I created a Big East on NCAA 2013 that included Penn State and Notre Dame to help give it $$$. I did keep Miami in ACC though in that scenario.

1990s-early 2000s football was the best, and not just because Tennessee was good.

I feel the same. I enjoyed football more from 1997-2010 or so. The Saban/Alabama run really kind of strangled college football. It has been too top heavy with Ohio State always being on top of B1G, Clemson on top of ACC, OU on top of Big12, and Alabama or Georgia in SEC. Not enough parody. That is starting to change now. In a way, NIL has been a breathe of fresh air.

I don't believe Nebraska's decline would have been as bad had they stayed in the Big 12.

I know this is going to sound bad to some people but, historically, Big12 was always very top heavy in the past. OU, Texas, Nebraska, and Texas A&M were the leaders.

Most years, Baylor, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, and Texas Tech were just easy Ws. Colorado and Missouri were up and down as well. In recent history, most of these programs have gotten stronger but if you go prior to 2007 or so (Kansas State and Oklahoma State both got stronger prior to 2007), most were easy wins which hid bad years for OU, Nebraska, and Texas.

They never should have left for the pac 12

They wanted California recruits but they lost connections to Texas which hurt their program. Nebraska had similar issues. Nebraska should have just negotiated to get annual game with OU.

Missouri-Kansas is another one.

Mizzou really does not belong in the SEC. They've been around a while and I still hate it.

Yep. Two fairly matched programs. 56-54-9 119 games played but not one since 2011. Expansion has destroyed many rival games.

It doesn't make sense financially but adding Oklahoma State and Kansas would solve rivalry issues and have other benefits for SEC. Kansas doesn't add much in Football but man would it help SEC in the sport it seems to struggle with the most (Men's Basketball). Oklahoma State is an all-around great sports program and that gives OU an end of year rivalry game.

Kansas-Missouri would be another end of year rivalry that would be solved by adding them. Kansas-Kentucky would be an awesome Basketball rivalry.
