Nice job cherry-picking. For the record, here's my entire post:
Yeah, but no. By then, the Deion love will have worn off. Maybe not with ESPN, but with those who have a double-digit football IQ.
Much like his move from FSU to the NFL, his move from FCS to FBS will be a step up that he simply cannot make.
He will do good things at Colorado. Turn them into an 8-4 / 9-3 team. That is, with or without him, their ceiling.
It is what it is. No one is going to confuse CU for USC. Or USCe.
Go Vols.
Note the "good things at Colorado", and "8-4 / 9-3 team" points I made.
Of course, that doesn't fit your narrative, does it?
I'll stick with my opinion that it's a step up that he cannot make. He will do good things (pronounced "win") at CU. What he will
not do is win a Natty. He's been a winner as a player at the college and NFL level. Top shelf, no doubt. And he's won at the FCS (HBCU) level as a coach. Note that he did not actually win an FCS NC. Nor will he win an NC at the FBS level. That's my prediction; those are my words; and I'll stick with them. I've seen this act before. We all have. Coach Prime is just the latest shiny toy in the ESPN / CFB soap opera. Did you watch his meeting with the old CU team? Riddle me this: do you remember, in your lifetime, ever seeing the media coverage like that of any new coach meeting his team for the first time?
Here's what
you don't get: Coach Prime is not going to be satisfied being an 8-4 / 9-3 coach at the University of Colorado. This year, next year, and maybe one more. But if he doesn't win...or at least play for...a Natty at CU (and he won't), then once Shedeur and Shilo are gone...so is he. If not that year, then no more than one year after.
Coach Prime always has, and always will, need that limelight. And he won't be getting it in 2027 as the head coach at a 9-3 CU team.
Wait, what?
Wait and see. I'll be here for you to remind me if I'm wrong.
I'm not.
Go Vols.
