Just an FYI for those interested. It's on ESPN2. Sorry for another PM thread just wanted to make sure everyone knew SIAP.

Is this a big deal? I mean I'm not trying to be a smart ass at all, but all we are going to see is a bunch of bandwagon fans who called the Colts their team for 12+ years jump ship.

Yes....

No1 from TN supports the Colts for any other reason other than Peyton. Supporting a Manning-less Indy is silly.. Manning > Indy...

I gotcha bud. I understand the point of view that you take but there are radicals on here that say the have loved the colts. you would think one player making you love a team over 12 years, it would make you love that team even more. I mean I just think its funny that all these ppl are gonna hate the colts the minute Peyton signs with another team.

Irsay better cry, he just killed his franchise, letting Manning go along with Garcon, Wayne, Saturday, and the rest of the players that made this team what its been for this past decade.

How often do teams releasing a player have the player appear at a press conference for the team?

I see your point but for the past 14 years Peyton was the Colts. They should take that horseshoe off the helmet and put Peytons face on there. Like I said, I'm not a Colts fan but I did watch their games when it was on TV just because of Peyton.

How often do teams simply release a player like Manning? I expected them to be smart enough to try and trade him to at least help rebuild the team, but nope, Irsay just wants to officially bury his team.

Right, because you know they can play FOREVER!

Irsay wouldn't have done this if he didn't want what's best for the franchise.

I don't really see how people can be mad at Irsay for this. If anything, he's doing Peyton a favor so that he can go to an established team.

I think Irsay is pretty genuine though. From what I've heard, they have been really close friends from day one. This is just the business side of sports and sometimes tough decisions have to be made.

Don't get me wrong, with the current state of the Colts I kinda glad that Irsay is letting him go and giving him the opportunity to go somewhere where he might be able to win another SB, but as a Colts fan this is just the straw that broke the camels back. Irsay letting Manning along with all the other established starters he's letting go just roves he has no clue how to rebuild a franchise. He's gonna need established vets to teach the new, young guys and he's not gonna have that on offense.
