Like Niño Brown said in New Jack City,"it's always about business. It ain't never personal."

Just as a good qb leaves another one will enter Indy. There is no guarantee Luck will be as good or worse than manning but Luck will be a better rookie imo. So just as the Colts lose lots of fans because of one player, they will gain a bunch because of one player. It's just a cycle

Hope Colts fans weren't too upset about this season because I have a feeling they've got about 6 years of Detroit Lions-esque fail ahead of them.

Don't get me wrong, with the current state of the Colts I kinda glad that Irsay is letting him go and giving him the opportunity to go somewhere where he might be able to win another SB, but as a Colts fan this is just the straw that broke the camels back. Irsay letting Manning along with all the other established starters he's letting go just roves he has no clue how to rebuild a franchise. He's gonna need established vets to teach the new, young guys and he's not gonna have that on offense.

When did he let go those other players? You do know they just signed Mathis back and Saturday is still under contract. They offered Garcon and he turned it down.

How can you say that. Luck is walking into a little bit better bad situation compared to Mannings rookie year. luck will actually have a defense. To say they are totally doomed is not right. I could see the colts having 2 bad years maximum.

I just don't see Luck having a "good" year for at least a few seasons. He has no real receivers to throw too. Wayne was the guy everyone had to account for and Garcon was the deep threat and they're losing both of them. Then you factor in that the O-line has been a joke for the past couple of seasons and you can see why any real Colts fan would be upset. Manning had that quick read and quick release that could make up for poor line play. Luck as a rookie isn't gonna have that and with that line and lack of receivers its gonna be hard for him to ever grow into a top QB in the NFL.

Never said he would have good year rather a better year in a bad situation that is very similar to Mannings rookie year.

Not paying Peyton that $28 million is gonna give them the cap space to help rebuild the O-line and the rest of the offense. I think they will be fine

"Early thoughts on some key Colts scheduled to become unrestricted free agents come March 13.

Thanks to Mac’s Football Blog, where you can find complete team-by-team lists that include exclusive right and restricted free agents.

QB Kerry Collins – He may not have filed paperwork, but he’s retired.

QB Dan Orlovsky – Showed enough to be on a roster in the league as a third quarterback in a crowded situation or a backup somewhere with a sure-fire starter.

WR Pierre Garcon – He’s inconsistent, but this team needs a speed receiver for Andrew Luck and it’s better to keep the one they’ve been developing than going searching.

WR Anthony Gonzalez – Was completely in the doghouse at the end and could not get on the field. Probably needs to sign for a season, in Indy or elsewhere, and prove he can be healthy and contribute.

WR Reggie Wayne – Has said he’d stay and be honored to be part of a rebuild, but they’d have to be fair. Other teams will court him and somebody will pay him better than the Colts would if they pursued him, I suspect.

TE Jacob Tamme – Was quite a good receiving option for Peyton Manning in 2010, but how much of that was Manning? I think Tamme is a valuable piece they should want back and can certainly afford.

OT Ryan Diem – Did well to serve as a veteran example for a young line and was flexible, playing some guard. But his time is going to be up.

OG Mike Pollak – Has played a lot and not gotten a lot better. They got new tackles last year; it’s time for a new guard or two.

OC Jeff Saturday – If Manning is gone, it would make sense to turn the page with Saturday, too. Reportedly the Colts and at least one other team would like him in their front offices.

DE Robert Mathis – Will be a commodity, for sure. Never mind his age. He can help you rush the passer for the next three years. Colts should want to keep him, but will they pay what he costs?

LB Philip Wheeler – If the Colts are getting bigger on defense, they’ll probably move on here. He’s consistently failed to get in or stay in the lineup for extended stretches in a defense for which he’s better suited.

Other UFAs:
DE Jamaal Anderson
FB Jerome Felton
OT Quinn Ojinnaka
OG Jamey Richard
DE Tyler Brayton
DE Eric Foster
LB Kevin Bentley
LB Ernie Sims"

That was a sad conference. Kinda made me upset..

I started to choke up a bit. Nice to see them part on good terms though. Through this whole process Chris Mortensen, who is one of the few reporters that I trust what they say, said that Peyton and Irsey have been like brothers all these years. You could see it in that PC.

Wonder how quickly Peyton will sell his house and move his family out of Indy. The local charities will certainly miss them.

Maybe Peyton can take Wayne, Garcon and Saturday with him and set up shop somewhere he can get another ring before he retires.

I am not ashamed to admit that I was only a Colts fan because of Manning. I enjoy watching the NFL but I don't have a team that I follow passionately like I do the Vols. I actually root against more teams more passionately than I do for any team. Therefore I tend to pull for teams with the high profile former Vols and Manning is the highest profile of them all. He's fun to watch on top of that. I hope he lands a team that has the pieces to help him win another Superbowl and I will pull for him there.

I also have never seen anyone look more uncomfortable than Jim Irsay when Manning was talking about being ready to play footbal... All the best wishes to our #1 Vol

Well regardless of how I feel about this move as a Colts fan, I'm extremely happy for Peyton. This will give him the chance to go somewhere and prove himself as the GOAT on a team with a solid offense AND defense. Hopefully he comes back at 100% and can win a couple more SB rings and MVPs.

Every team has a list of FAs. Wayne is likely gone. They offered Garcon a 5 year deal, he turned them down and if Saturday quits its him retiring unlikely they will cut him.

Chris Carter said Peytons old OC Tom Moore was with Peyton at Duke for five days and Peyton told him he didnt want him to say anything about his evaluation until the five days are over. Carter said he spoke to Moore and said if he is an NFL owner, he is calling Peyton at 4pm once he clears waivers.

Peyton is a friggin savant under center. All the experts say that Peyton knows about offense better than the 64 HC's and OC's in the NFL.
