His purple nose and cheeks would support your theory...

Oh, and I dunno, cutting PM is a hint as well... Now, I say that jokingly, knowing there is always more to it but man, if PM is healthy, I think he makes Indy better. Whatever.

Hopefully he's headed to SF. PM with the SF D, wow.

How can you say that. Luck is walking into a little bit better bad situation compared to Mannings rookie year. luck will actually have a defense. To say they are totally doomed is not right. I could see the colts having 2 bad years maximum.

Oh gosh, where to start. I'm not sure what team you're looking at or if you're just guessing/supposing.

They are about to spend their #1 pick on a QB and have no viable veteran option on the roster. That rarely indicates a franchise on the verge of success and alone might be enough to warrant my prediction, but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

They are possibly going to lose Saturday, Diem, Wayne, and Manning, you can't replace that kind of veteran leadership and skill in 2 drafts.

They are also losing Garcon who was one of their more talented young players. Anthony Gonzalez is also a FA.

Their running game has been a mirage for a while now, existing almost exclusively to allow Manning to run play action, which was part of why they got exposed this year without him. They don't have a home run back, they have an injury prone work horse and a stable of mediocre backups.

Their offense is going to be putrid after replacing their best linemen and receivers with only Dallas Clark returning and Austin Collie who could be good if he can avoid injury.

They're installing an all new coach and new offense. That in and of itself is risky.

Contrary to what you said, the defense is not very good, either and Freeney's contract is up next season. I don't know the relative value of full season defensive stats but they only held 1 team under 14 points (Texans did it 8 times in the same division, SF and Phi did it 7). Since the offense was never a real threat to score you have to figure their numbers were skewed by teams running the ball on them. They were also the lowest scoring defense in my fantasy league for what that's worth.

So their leadership is leaving, their running backs suck and/or are always hurt, their best offensive linemen are retiring, their defense is middle of the pack at best, and they have an untested commodity at head coach, and a brand new GM.

The way things are headed they could be really really putrid. If I'm Andrew Luck I almost want to pull an Eli.

News station showing news. Go figure.

This seems to be a bit out of their field, though, especially to be breaking their scheduled programming to go live to it.

With everything that's currently going on in the news politics, government, and world wise, this seems just more like it'd be the kind of thing that would later be given a shorter segment summarizing it / talking about it (w/ video).

great farewell speech. manning is all class.

i guess the colt will have the 1st round pick for next year too after their 2nd crappy season in as many years

Is this a big deal? I mean I'm not trying to be a smart ass at all, but all we are going to see is a bunch of bandwagon fans who called the Colts their team for 12+ years jump ship.

Couldn't have said it better myself. At least if he goes to a team in a different division I can stop rooting against him :)

Probably so. Trade that pick to who ever wants Barkley the most and stock pile picks. Oh and draft Robert Woods.

You just named the exact same situation peyton walked into. Yes Peyton had Faulk but no defense. Is Dwight on inds team this year? Yes. Luck is walking into a situation that is bad but clearly better than peytons
