I hope that the SEC does not add 16 teams this would be stupid and just way to many teams. Texas AM is an ok add, but if FSU and Clemson join the conference this could be the end of TN. With two Florida teams this locks down Florida even more in recruiting. With Clemson and South Carolinas recent success that locks down South Carolina. Missouri coming to the SEC that would be totally crazy. Come on SEC!!!

I hope that 14 is the highest the SEC goes and I hope that it is a team like Virginia, West Virginia, Louville, or NC State these teams widen the TV market and don’t load the cards against TN to compete in the SEC. Chris Lowe on ESPN reported that the SEC does not want to bust up the ACC and will look at Big East Teams. I hope this is true

If 16 teams come the SEC rivalries like BAMA and TN would come to an end. The conference would be divided up into four team divisions for a grand total of four like: North East, South East and North West and South West.

Don’t kill college Football SEC sometimes things are better off left alone, stop thinking about the all mighty dollar and think about this proud and tradition filed conference that is not any other conference in the country.

So let me get this straight from what I have red about this whole situation is Texas A&M is pist at Texas for the whole tv deal. So they get the bright ideal we mad we are going to bolt for the SEC. That doesn't sound to smart. You can't win in the Big 12 what makes you think you can come to the SEC and do any better. Do you guys actually think this is going down. :whatever:

Have you every thought about what happens when you give them SEC Exposure. That could be bad for everybody.

I think everything will be okay. The real downside would be an SEC team trying to make an undefeated run to the BCS championship. Adding more compitition makes it harder. Having said that several SEC teams are playing big time non conf games already and they are doing just fine. Could this all be leading to several mega conferances and a playoff system. What is the big picture?

Lol there are plenty of recruits to go around. It's not like these schools don't get enough exposure and coming to the SEC will have a huge impact. Vandy and UK play in the SEC but their recruiting is still bad. Its not just about recruiting its also about development. Plenty of guys in the NFL that weren't big time recruits or played in a huge conference or a big school.

But I do believe that this is a push toward a playoff system. There is no way an SEC team would win a national title with this conference under the BCS system because everyone will have a few losses. It would be like an minor league for the NFL.

It will definitely be a vote toward a playoff system especially if the Pac-12 adds 4 more teams like the SEC seems to want to do.

FSU has had a lot of great classes but they haven't had a great team since 2000. By joining the SEC, FSU isn't going to get many more recruits than they already do. Yes, it will be hard to beat them but I don't think FSU will be a better team by joining the SEC.

The SEC is doing fine at it is. We are the dominant conference. Why would Slive and the University's upset the ship? More $$$$ is the answer. It's the state of corporate America. Mo Money.

It is the face of things to come. The powers that be want 4 "super" 16 team conferences and will pull out of the NCAA so they can govern themselves. They can't get reasonable rules through the NCAA because of all the small schools voting as a bloc. It will happen.

Good point. We played a team that went on to play for a national title last year in a non-conference game. We replace tough non-conference games with tough conference games. What's the big deal? Yes, the games matter more because they are conference games but they will also matter more for UGA, UF, USC etc.

I think the BCS loves the idea of superconferences and I think mega-expansions ends hope for a playoff. At the end of the day, the Big 12 and ACC will be no more. That leaves 4 BCS conferences. How can you have a playoff with 4 major conferences while keeping the conference championship games and BCS bowls and while giving non-BCS schools a chance to compete for a championship? I don't see it.

No matter who they add it messes up the landscape of the SEC. You have to think. The SEC is a conference of history and tradition of teams who have been playing each other for 30,40, or 50 years and some even more. It's what makes this conference the best in the nation because of it's history and tradition. Why would you want to change that.

Huh? Wha? What are they going to be allowed to do, pay them? FSU already recruits lights-out, how many more studs are they gonna get b/c they are in the SEC? It's not like if a team is not in the SEC, that we are not already directly competing with them for our 25-30 players. FSU, Clemson, UNC, VT, UVA and heck the entire USA for us are all direct competitors now.

So I think we can all agree some what that it's not Texas A&M we are afraid of it's Florida St.

So we are sitting here on a Website dedicated to our Volunteers talking about how we are SCARED of other teams???? Bring every team in every conference right on into the SEC!! If you are going to be the best , you've got to BEAT the best!! FSU, Clemson, TX A&M, better be scared of the TENNESSEE VOLS!! You can be AFRAID if you want to be but I am excited about the direction of our program and there isn't a school in the U.S.A that makes me AFRAID!!! BRING IT!!!! GO VOLS!!!:banghead2:

Sure they haven’t been good since 2000 while having good classes, but they were under Bobby “I don’t know the 4th quarter score” Bowden during that time who was far past his prime. Now they are under Jimbo, and we saw what he did last year in his FIRST season... get ready, he is bringing the Noles back to dominance. This spells trouble for us. So needless to say, these next 2-3 years of recruiting and performance are vital to the next decade. But we can do it.

Just thinking out loud here and typing as things come to my head..

So to elaborate my own question; assuming we have 4 16-team-mega conferences. The bowl games stay the same with the exception of the BCS bowls. There will be 4 BCS bowl games. 4 bids go to conference champions. 4 bids go to at-large non-BCS conference teams. The winners play in a +2 playoff. On the surface, it sounds perfect BUT that system will likely cost at least 2 BCS conference teams a BCS bowl bid every year. That's millions of dollars we are talking about so I don't see conference commissioners or college presidents liking that idea.

Ok calm down. It's cool I love the attitude. Yes I do agree and I like where our program is going no problem there.
I will say this from what I heard when I watched the video of Dooley earlier tonight. He said they want to be more uptempo and have a explosive passing game. If that what he trying to do and get that accomplished then hey I will share that attitude with 100%.
