I was disappointed before I even watched it. I didn't want to see Rogan, Hill, Samberg or Hader. I wanted to see people who actually make their living on a stage. That's what made the other roasts so great. If they want to bring in new roasters, bring in Tosh, Dave Chappelle, Ron White, etc. it was no surprise that Silverman (a comedian) and Ross (also a comedian) killed it.
Comedy Central went too mainstream on this one, and it hurt them.
The sad part was... Samberg tried to be a poor man's Norm Mcdonald and do the "clean roast." Hader decided to just be a new sketch character basically. Hader works on South Park, I would've hoped he could kill it as a mean joke teller, but he didn't.
I would absolutely love a roast dais of Tosh, Chappele, and Ron White. Throw in Lampanelli and Giraldo, Jeselnik and maybe gottfried, then let the host be a good friend of the roaster, and bam. You have yourself a show everyone watches.
That seems like a pretty lousy lineup. He must be hated by most celebs. It will probably be just as unfunny as the one for Chevy Chase. Bob Sagget’s roast was one of the best in the last few years.Roast of Alec Baldwin coming up September 15th. Here is the lineup:
Robert De Niro, Blake Griffin, Caitlyn Jenner, Joel McHale, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, Chris Redd, and Jeff Ross

Messing is at least in the acting community along with Baldwin even if she's not a 100% comic. Chances are they've worked together or are friends.
Blake Griffin just seems out of place. Like when they got what's his name from Jersey Shore to be a roaster a few years ago.
