Complete Disrespect vs USU

One of the problems with a board is that you can't direct arguments to a small, select group of posters. Each post is seen by the entire board.

There is a small group of posters here who take umbrage to anything having the slightest bit of anything unflattering toward Tennessee.

This is why you see posts with titles like "Knoxville writer says....." and everyone gets ticked at what he said.

All I was trying to convey is I understand why Utah State people would feel like they could compete and win.

And, yes, if I was involved with the Idaho program, I would indeed let them know that Georgia Southern beat Florida, we can too. I wouldn't take offense to that either.

It's a new year. Things appear to be on the rise. But, until proven otherwise, dismissing teams for daring to think they can compete with Tennessee is a little arrogant.
That small group of posters....and you....are trolls. Get it gay duh?

"Asked about playing in Neyland Stadium against a team that ranks 10th on the list of all-time won-lost records with a mark of 804-361-53, quarterback Chuckie Keeton noted the Aggies were playing the current Vols, not their history."

You might not be playing their history, but you are playing dey boys!

I agree but the VOLS youth and inexperience scares the heck out of me in this first game.

It can be a factor but there's enough leadership between AJ, Maggitt, Worley, Crowder, and guys like that to keep things under control.

Did you listen to Worley's press comments? Interesting that he said he believes they're good enough to surprise some people this year. He's one of the players on this team that has played "good" SEC teams.

Obvious agenda is obvious

Yeah... I see through your attempt to have a ready excuse.... Unlike you, I actually believe and expect Jones to be a good coach. I am certain that UT has better athletes. Couple the two... and you have a game that UT should win comfortably.

ESPN and the SEC network are trying to make this game look close for one reason... viewers... opening weekend of college football and they want ratings.

Honestly I believe Arkansas State is a better team than Utah state

Yeah, without those forced fumbles, interceptions (2 of which were gifts) and other 38 points we scored, we could've indeed lost to WKy and not won by THIRTY-TWO points.

It set the tone for the whole game. Wasn't trying to argue bro, just think had they not had the wind knocked out of their sails, it could have been closer. I still believe we would have won. IMO a better comparison, although a different coach, would be NC STATE when several of the "experts" picked us to lose. We were not given anything and just threw it over amerson time after time. All this imo though. Agree to disagree. Its time for VFLS to come together. GAME WEEK

Well said. Apologies for the smartarse response earlier. It's game week and I'm a little testy and whatnot. Go Vols!!

Probably something UTAH ST will not see on film is the "speed" we are hearing about on Defense. That could be Barnett or Hendrix or the LB. They see a slow moving TN defense that couldn't keep containment or keep backs off the edge. Do they kinda lose they minds if we have the speed coaches are talking about? Something I haven't read or missed was how good their current coach is at "ingame" game planning? Someone fill me in

Ain't no thang brother. I've been crazy since the last game of last year. I'm always uptight until game week gets here. Ha

That rubbed me the wrong way. Hope our D lays the Wood to him Sunday.

I believe in CBJ and his staff. Unlike you, I am not setting an arbitrary win total as a measure of success/failure/coaching ability for 2014 season.

Apparently according to sjt, nothing is out of the CBJ's control.

-------------------------------------------------------------

sjt18 2014 agenda True / False test:

1) True freshmen and JUCO transfers never make mistakes and always produce at a high level immediately. The majority of UT's better athletes you mentioned above were in HS or JUCO a year ago.

2) Replacing all starters on both lines is not a big deal - starting a former walk-on at LT is overblown

3) A football team should definitely have the same level of chemistry & performance for the 1st game that they have by the 12th game of the season

4) 3-4 years in an SEC football strength & conditioning program is not a significant advantage over high school and JUCO strength programs

---------------------------------------------------------

Give it a rest already - it is blatant.

You have been on here hyping this matchup with Utah State as a pushover and insisting that if CBJ is a actually good coach, the Vols win a blowout.

I expect us to win a close game on Sunday. However, regardless of how the Utah State game plays out - after the past 6 years of ineptitude I want to see how the entire season plays out. Just sick and tired of all the *****ing and moaning and coaching changes.

You keep saying CBJ has to win 6 games this year and get to a bowl to help maintain recruiting, yet you blatantly ignore the fact that we already have a 2015 class that is 95% full.

Your shtick is tired

Looks like Scout is disrespecting us too. Link on the home page lists Jashon Richardson as starting lineman. Didn't know Josh decided to play football and basketball this year

All this talk about Keeton. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he didn't even show up against a very poor USCw team last year and lost to Utah in the opener, which are 2 lower tier Pac-12 teams that I think even our team last year would have beaten.

Nb4 Scout hates us.

1st post btw :dance2:
