Concerning PM. FlightAware is tracking Bud's plane

Peyton to the titans wouldn't surprise at all. Probably one of the better options for him as far as being able to step in and win immediately. Admittedly I dont follow the afc much, but the titans would definitely become my 2nd nfl team if for nothing but nostalgia.

Considering where the Colts will be this next season in the early stages of rebuilding and the Jags being the Jags, the only real competition to win the division will likely come from the Texans. I believe that the Titans may look good to PM especially if we bring in a few free agents or high draft picks at key positions. Britt is going to be one of the best WRs in Titans' history if he can stay healthy and there are plenty of other targets to excite a passing QB. I honestly don't see that the Titans necessarily need a QB right now with Hasselback on a 3-year contract and Locker showing some promise for the future. I guess if a player of PM's caliber is suddenly available, you do whatever you can to land him. Like one of those guaranteed takes in recruiting regardless of position of need.

I agree that Bud Adams is getting senile in his old age, but I seriously doubt he would have blown this thing wide open publicly if he didn't think he could deliver an offer worthy of serious consideration by PM. Adams basically told the world that he would do whatever it took to get PM in a Titans uni next season. Seems like a dangerous approach to a negotiation unless you know something or have something up your sleeve. Of course, as I type this, I realize that this all could just as likely be a crafty PR ploy by Adams to appease the locals. Making it look like he went hard after PM with everything he had, but shucks! It just wasn't enough in the end:( I am pretty sure that a lot of Tennesseans would have been ticked off if Adams didn't at least take a shot at signing Manning.

Oh well, I would love to see PM in a Titans uniform personally. I wish Adams all the luck in the world!

Go VOLS!

JMO but I think Peyton's best chance to get to a Super Bowl is with Denver. They have things in place on both sides of the ball. I believe they showed that this year.

The 49ers have apparently talked to Manning or his agent--even as the denied interest
and were in contract talks with Alex Smith. Smith supposedly was not happy with his offer, then today said he WAS happy, perhaps after getting wind of the fact that the Niners were talking to PM. Now the latest is that the 49ers have broken off talks with Manning.

Meantime, according to a story in Denver Post, they are one of two finalists for Manning and that there has been no PM meeting with the Titans--maybe tomorrow. Titans seem to have a lot to offer--but already have two QBs, a pretty good vet and a promising youngster. Arizona has appeal but has salary cap issues. I think PM will have to decide within 12 to 24 hours.

They also have a coach with questionable ability, and barely broke even in a terrible division. I don't see them any more set up than the Titans. I also hate that horse face John Elway, so you should probably take what I say with a grain of salt.

Why so soon to decide?

Edit: don't know where the shaky head got in there

Think it needs to be the Texans. Move Schaub to free some cap room and draft a DE in the first roung to replace M-Williams. Peyton could get them to the SB.

Owner essentially said today "everyone stop talkin about it; we're not interested. We're more concerned with Mario Williams"

The Titans are the best team in the mix. Denver made the playoffs with miracles from Tebow. Arizona has a bad O line and no D. If Peyton was healthy and played for the Titans last year they would have won 12-13 games. Obvious choice is the Titans. Same division, best line, his type of city, best RB to play with since Edgerrin James. Titans can also afford Reggie Wayne. Nobody on the Titans currently wears #16.

If you give Peyton number 16 and he signs with the Titans, you cant keep enough jerseys in stock.
