If you give Peyton number 16 and he signs with the Titans, you cant keep enough jerseys in stock.

Seriously, the sheer number of new titans fans that would likely remain that way after is worth the investment to he franchise.

The Titans are not hurting for fans. Manning to the Titans would cause jersey sales to sky-rocket.

When the Titans picked up Moss, I thought it would never happen. Again, this could happen with Manning.

And bad hair gel

and an 20-29 yr old around his face...

look Bud is an old man

he is old, (friggin old), the kind of old that knows now is when you go all in to win...

Bud is gonna go all in. Manning is gonna see the immortality that was pissed away (undefeated season)...

Immortality awaits them both.

Not saying they are. But never hurts to grow the fan base. I know a lot of people who are not Titans fans who would switch allegiances. As a a fan, I welcome the opportunity to enhance the product on the field and off.

The Titans are the best team in the mix. Denver made the playoffs with miracles from Tebow. Arizona has a bad O line and no D. If Peyton was healthy and played for the Titans last year they would have won 12-13 games. Obvious choice is the Titans. Same division, best line, his type of city, best RB to play with since Edgerrin James. Titans can also afford Reggie Wayne. Nobody on the Titans currently wears #16.

Isn't because that number is retired for the Titans?

Edit: Nope. I found this thing called "googles", and according to that, I was wrong. I guess that will teach me to eavesdrop.

No, it's not.

Only 6 numbers retired: 1, 34, 43, 63, 65, 74

I edited my post. I overheard a conversation yesterday where someone stated plainly that the Titans #16 jersey was retired...that'll teach me to believe anything I hear. lol

That's what I heard from 3HL the other day.

Awesome to hear Candy fans on the radio this afternoon already complaining about "Hillbillies" in the stands wearing orange.

Peyton to the Titans would do wonders for the city of Nashville. They would have no problem signing sponsors for LP Field. Hell the state has been waiting for him to move into the governors mansion for the last 14 years. I have heard talks of a preseason game in Neyland which would be awesome. Also talks about him becoming a member of the front office once he retires and the Manning family has said they would like to control an NFL franchise someday. It diminishes the hopes of him returning to Knoxville to coach the Vols but that was a long shot before the Titans began targeting him. Peyton to the Titans would be the best thing that could ever happen to the franchise.

Lets be serious here. Peyton is not at the point of his career where anyone could legitimately expect him to return to UT in any sort of capacity (besides donor/booster). Maybe a few or several years down the road, but right now? I mean the man is still a very potent nfl quarterback still capable of winning championships (keep your mouth shut haters who want to see him play again first, bc you know it's truth). No way in hell he would consider returning to UT just yet. I actually think he will one day (in some capacity), but not for at least 5+ years.

LP Field does not need any more sponsors. That duty is already held by LP Industries.

Bud Adams is not going to give away the money for a preseason game to someone else. Bank on that.

Keep dreaming about him coaching the Vols. He's got bigger fish to fry when he retires.

It's going to be a shame when Peyton signs elsewhere and many of you are forced to return to your previous delusion of UT winning the SEC East in 2012.

:eek:lol:I'm sure that Peyton is anxiously looking forward to throwing passes to some guy named Stan.

Titans owner Adams plans Manning meeting Wednesday - WSMV Channel 4

"I think that he's very interested in our offer to have him as our quarterback," Adams said.

Adams said Manning has narrowed his choices for a possible team destination to four or five franchises, and Adams is committed to whatever it takes to bring him to Nashville.

"I told our people that he's the guy that I want to get on board," Adams said. "I want us to get back to the championship game, and I think he's the guy to get us there."

They will now plan to fly out early Wednesday to meet with Manning, so they can have a full day to speak with him.

How is this not off-topic? This needs to be moved forums.

So one of the greatest vols of all times decides to take interest in returning to the state to play pro ball and you think thats off topic...its more or less off topic than stating the death of a pro- vol player..God Forbid!
