I see people on here making jokes about CBJ's "best staff in the country" I have one question to those involved. What did you expect? Did you think he would hire Kriby Smart as the DC and Gus Malzahn as the OC?

He knows what he wants in Scheme and I think he knows exactly what he got when he hired the guys that have been winning with him for the past 6 years.

Just my 2 cents. Fire Away

When you coach in a conference with Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier, Kevin Sumlin, etc. it's probably best to keep comments like that to yourself. Although, his team did get Spurrier's team this past season. Still.

Best in the country??? No. Pretty good for his scheme??? Yes. Scheme vs players that were on roster??? Not so good. Future with his players and his scheme??? Brighter than an albinos a$$ in the sun.

Notice how you only said head coaches. The only time DC/OC's get recognition is when its possible that they will get hired as an HC somewhere.

He opened himself wide up to it by 1) claiming at his introductory press conference that he'd hire the best staff in the country, and then 2) hiring almost all of his existing staff from Cincinnati. It was a dumb thing to say.

I did only mention head coaches but do you honestly think there is anyone outside of Knoxville that wouldn't choose Saban's or Les Miles's staffs over Butch's?

My gosh, why can't the man brag about his staff? And why can't we wait and see if he's right?
"Well, I've got a decent staff. I mean, come on, I've got a couple coaches who were fired from Georgia, ya know? Ha ha ho ho. I'm telling you guys, we'll probably get outcoached by Nick and Gus, but we'll be ok, surely, right? I don't really trust them so far in our 1st year here kinda like Volnation."
I added that last part.

How many other schools have a top 5 recruiting class with 3 consecutive losing seasons? I'd say that in itself speaks well for the coaching staff. Not too many kids want to come and play for a crappy coach.

The "best staff in america" needs a couple of good recruiting classes to work with before any harsh judgement can be made....IMO

I trully don't know why some of you bother playing the game on easy. Guess there's a lot of Ohio States out there.

I play on heisman and turn the computer AI defense way up. The game itself is to easy to play. Or I'm just that gifted at reading the defense. I have had to win some shootouts but I get the job done.

Would you be interested in a job as DC at Tennessee?

When he said it, he opened himself up to criticism. Perhaps, like Butch, you should just deal with it and get over it.

If a man says " Best staff in America" he better deliver the " Best staff in America"

A man is only good as his word

You are wrong. You also need some football players. We are a little shy of that right now. We will see how the staff is in another year.
