Concerning the "Best Staff in the Country" jokes

It is sad you believe someone has to be flawless and perfect. I thought only one man was perfect....and he died on a cross....and then there apparently is you.

Why bring religion into this?
Then again, I'm sure you wouldn't like my thoughts on that topic either.

To be clear - It's called winning the press conference.

I honestly believe that CBJ doesn't want anyone but his guys on the staff. This staff is not a bunch of mismatched pieces - they are a tight group. I think CBJ believes what he said even if no one else does.

Butch and his staff have proven elite recruiters being able to win over recruits despite the lack of recent success.

It's been 6 yrs / 7 seasons since Tennessee has had a relevant football team.

What exactly has CBJ and his staff done to disappoint you in his first 13 months on the job?

1) Most EEs in school history?
2) Top 5 recruiting class?
3) Beat a Top 10 team first time since 2006 or 2007?

I admit the Vandy game was disappointing, but not an upset IMO. Georgia game also disappointed but showed flashes of what this program will be in years to come - Aaron Murray is a 4 yr starter and he won that game more than Vols lost it.

Just having a hard time understanding why all the negativity when I contrast Butch to Dooley. It is a world of difference IMHO.

It's a shame that you think reality is negativity.
Like The Who said, "Won't be fooled again!".

How many other schools have a top 5 recruiting class with 3 consecutive losing seasons? I'd say that in itself speaks well for the coaching staff. Not too many kids want to come and play for a crappy coach.

We should get on our knees and give thanks for the 35 or so who do.

I see people on here making jokes about CBJ's "best staff in the country" I have one question to those involved. What did you expect? Did you think he would hire Kriby Smart as the DC and Gus Malzahn as the OC?

He knows what he wants in Scheme and I think he knows exactly what he got when he hired the guys that have been winning with him for the past 6 years.

Just my 2 cents. Fire Away

then he shouldn't say best staff in the country. he did this to himself.

maybe he should have said the co-best staff in the big east.

or just simply that he was going to bring in the best staff for his style of play.

I am far from religious but your arrogance on this subject is comical....trying to paint an image for you....because your posts simply paint that image for me....Flawless Perfection or Complete Failure....that is how you come off. You are crucifying CBJ....or pretty damn close to it.

This ain't Central Michigan or Cincinnati.

It ain't Louisville either but Petrino turned out to be a pretty damn good head coach in the SEC. He just couldn't keep the motorcycle on the road and the mistress in check...by the way what conference is that Louisville school he coached and now coaches in from again?

So, because I am taking a wait and see approach as opposed to blindly being led, I am an arrogant pr!ck?
Oh well.
I can live with that.
Your approval of me is not a requirement.

Given equal talent you really want to put Jones up against Petrino? Based on what?

Forgetting the garbage surrounding him, Petrino flirted with Auburn (supposedly) and wound up coaching in the NFL.

I know, you're going to bring up the head-to-head meeting this past fall. That's why I said, "given equal talent."

You said this ain't Cincinnati...well Louisville ain't either....same conference both coaches came from after both being successful there. Your implying it can't happen with a HC from that conference....I'm reminding you it has already happened once. That is all.

"I'm dedicated to bringing in a great staff. A staff that will work hard to bring back the UT that every fan is accustomed to. You may not recognize some of the names, but I can tell you that theses guys will make you proud. No one will out work us and in the end, you will be proud of what this staff will bring to the University of Tennessee"

So the 4 coaches out of how many?

You are putting CBJ in pretty elite company after a 5-7 season. You're saying that because a few coaches made an impact, CBJ will also.. Blind optimism.

That would have been prefect.

Did what to himself...simple, Butch wins and you'll shift course...most likely bemoaning our chances of keeping members of this staff you're currently all chapped about.
