I missed the first goal but the second one was setup beautifully.

Howard has had some great saves so far.

I am stoked we have come out firing like this.

This team deserves a lot of love. They've really made the most of their second chance.

Jesus, it was so close to 2-1.


So, 2 point lead going into the second half. We got a chance of holding on to this thing. I fully expect Brazil to come out rocking, though. We'll probably need another goal.

2-0 USA at half. I was looking at the gamecast, and I'm not liking the Brazil 10 shots to US's only 4 shots on the goal. Sure we lead now, but if this keeps up to say 20 shots to only 8 shots...might be a bit of trouble later on

Not that the result would be the same, but that's exactly what happened against Spain.

well I saw those stats, and it was like 3-3 goal shots (US-Spain) each team 1st half and then it was 1-8 shots the second half. The worry is just can our goallie go through two halves of a barrage like that as this game is looking like it might perhaps be?

It's possible, but Howard is still playing out of his mind. Expect to see some kind of defensive sub out of the locker room or early in the half. The Yanks will probably drop a midfielder back and try to cut down on Brazil's chances.

If anyone can do it, Howard can. He is most definitely a world class keeper.

That is certainly the question. There is no doubt that Brazil will come out playing with a huge passion in the second. I never really looked at the stats against Spain, but I'd venture to say the ball stayed in our half at least 75% of the time in the second half. If the same holds true, the fitness and ability of our defense is going to be put the ultimate test.

Anyone who follows international soccer in the entire world has had their minds blown by what the US has done the last few games. And that's even if we still lose to Brazil.
