alright. 2-1. Still think they're going to come heavy in the 2nd half so this team needs to dig deep and keep it up for about 30 more mins. I worry it's pretty much going to stay on our side of the field mostly again

That is certainly the question. There is no doubt that Brazil will come out playing with a huge passion in the second. I never really looked at the stats against Spain, but I'd venture to say the ball stayed in our half at least 75% of the time in the second half. If the same holds true, the fitness and ability of our defense is going to be put the ultimate test.

it all just reminded me of a playoff series in the NHL from a few years back between the preds and red wings, where the wings were just too strong and kept it on the other half of the ice almost the entire time.
Sure, the goalie stopped alot of shots (like 40 saves a game, for two games or something), but the more shots you keep taking on a goalie in a game, especially when the ball just stays on his half....well, the more likely that your next one goes in

It looked in. It was an odd angle so I can't be totally sure, but it was only a few inches clear when it hit the turf, and it seemed to travel a good foot or two laterally after being hit by Howard, until it hit the turf.

Why the hell do you need a neck warmer when you are running all over the field? It's only 50 degrees.

I am convinced that some of these folks in the crowd with the horns don't even know there is a game going on. They're just "jamming."
