Matt Simms on an nfl roster does nothing for us. I'm sure Tebow vs Simms collegiate career is heavily overshadowed by their nfl careers. And yes, I was laying sarcasm on pretty thick.

Our OL made Matt Simms the toughest QB in NFL History. Gosh, that kid never had a chance. That said, it's still hard for me to believe that he made a roster. Guess I'll try to hang on to my day job.

Real happy for him he took a beating at TN and never complained. I still to this day feel like he didn't get a fair shake when he was here. He played all the hard gms while Bray got to come in and mop up against weak competition.

Did I say that it did anything for the Vols? I'm just having my crow for the crap I gave the kid while he was here and congratulating him. Sorry to offend your Tebow mancrush in the process.

Props for starting this thread (I was thinking of doing so myself). Hope he gets more chances to prove himself. Release looks quicker, and balls coming out with more pop. Shows maybe coaching he had here wasn't tops. But, nonetheless, he took many mental beatings here, largely from fans, so I was happy to see him doing well.

Also, many many Vols in that Denver-KC game. Wish NFL announcers were better about stating what school people went to. Berry vs. Manning is a good storyline they could have played up, as well as the Colquitts going against each other. Malik Jackson, Robert Ayers, etc. We could have gotten better press with a little more, "...and Jackson out of Tennessee in on the sack...," but sadly, they're not that good about that kind of thing. Fun to watch, though.

Anyone hating on Matt Simms is bang out of order. He was tough as nails and thrown under the bus by Derek MF Dooley who made him a practice dummy for opposing teams and never asked Chaney to apply some coaching.

I still believe Bray should never have come into that South Carolina game, and I still maintain we could have won that game with Simms and without the Bray pick-six.

Both Bray and Simms were handcuffed by Dooley (and Chaney).

I'm thrilled for Matt Simms. Can't remember - does his brother have an NFL TD to his name?

I hope Matt starts for the rest of the season. Geno has been bad. They never should have drafted him.
