Would be 997 if Pitino would have put a man on the inbounds passer...

Still, it is an incredible accomplishment. WTG Coach Ratface.

Props for the ability to post the pic. You guys didn't put a man on the ball, but Laettner was 20-20 that night fgs and fts. I still can't believe Woods hit that 1 hander from 15 feet.

And 1-1 with beech ass foot stomps to the chest. I often wish Demarcus Cousins could go back in time and play for UK that season, and put an elbow to his throat. Just sayin...

Or even Magloire bending Wojo in half....priceless.

It's funny how the mention of Christian Laettner makes UK fans, what with their #1 in all-time wins and twice as many national titles as Duke, turn into whiny little girls.

It's just something fun to keep going. Duke isn't even in my top 3 hate club. I would try to say something witty and insulting about UF but I honestly just don't care in the least. Carry on.

Nobody mentioned Laettner.

Oh, and somebody tell Billy D it's not 2006 anymore.

You posted a video of Laettner's shot genius...that counts as a mention. :eek:lol:

And for you to truly understand the extent to which UF fans are playing with house money when it comes to basketball, imagine how you'd feel if UK won back-to-back national titles in football bookended by a couple national titles in hoops.

I mean, that could happen for you guys right?

So In other words, you're saying that UF can suck forever and it's no big deal because you've already overachieved? Kinda lame.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said...pass the meth Jethro.

As for "sucking forever", this is the first time in a couple decades under Donovan UF likely won't win 20 games or make the NCAA tournament.

Imagine UK football going to a bowl game 15 out of the last 20 years, sprinkling in a half dozen trips to Atlanta for the SECCG, winning a handful or so.

You probably wouldn't care if an Alabama fan took shots at UK's football program.

So please, continue to fire away at Donovan and UF's inferior basketball program. :good!:

Nope, it was a still of Grant Hill. Laettner would be the white dude at the other end of the court. And obviously, subtle humor is lost on you.

I'd donate my left testicle to see b2b anything successful in football, but you don't see me hanging on that 1998 bb championship t-shirt forever.

That's because you know at some point UK hoops will win another title or three in your lifetime.

UF doesn't have that luxury in hoops, even with Donovan, and UK football likely never will.

20 win seasons are a weak barometer. Since 1975, Western Kentucky University has 20 seasons with 20 wins, UF has 19. (All under eddie munster, yes) Who's better?

To prove how relatively insignificant 20 wins means, UF missed the tourney in 2008 and 2009 with records of 24-12 and 25-11.

In 14 of the tournament appearances since Donovans arrival, UF lost in the 1st or 2nd round in 6 of them.

20 win season hype aside, when you refer to "House Money" it doesn't matter how you try to justify it, it basically means "Oh because we've sucked all our life, because we won it twice and shouldn't have, we can never win it again and all is well."

If that is what you think of your team, then it's easy to justify them as over achievers. When in fact, if they are judged by the same standards as elite programs, they are not.

You won 2 titles, either they were for real and your program should be viewed as legit, or they were complete accidents (which they were) and we're back to the house money scenario.

UF's hoops titles were accidents....that's rich. Nothing like that good old fashioned UK basketball arrogance. :eek:lol:

You and I both know UF's titles were legit, and UF's basketball program is legit.

If one day UK wins a title or two in its "other" sport, that title will be legit no matter how many Alabama, Ohio State or Notre Dame fans thumb their nose at it.

UF hoops will never be UK, UNC, Duke, Kansas, UCLA or Indiana...and I'm more than okay with that.

If you want to hold UF hoops to blue blood standards, have at it...far be it for a UK hoops fan not to have something to pound their chest over.

If Coach K won the same percentage of games as Coach Rupp, he'd be at 1075. Just saying.

dook is now 11-11 in its last 22 ACC road games. You'd think the K would learn to prepare his team for ACC road games by actually playing a few OOC road games, but I guess not. lol
