Congratulations to Skylar Mcbee

Every time McThree gets the ball in his hands I get excited because he always seems to hit them when it counts the most. Sure, he might lead everybody on the all-time bricks list too, but he's made enough clutch threes to make up for any amount of bricks. Hell, the three to seal the deal against #1 Kansas (and spark our first ever run to the Elite Eight after many were giving up on the entire season) by itself is enough to ensure he'll never be forgotten by this generation of Vol fans. He'll be greatly missed.

If you went to just about any college gym you would see a player that you would say is better than Skylar McBee. He probably wasn't even the best player on his HS team, but he's playing D1 basketball for a major program. He did it by dint of hard work, by getting every ounce of ability out of his skinny, slow, non-athletic body. His D has improved every year, he is not a triple threat scorer, but occasionally he does take the ball to the hole now. His 3 pt. pct. is not magnificent, but it is servicable. Everyone knows that he's going to take the shot, there have been games where the Vols have been behind and he had to force a few. He's not going to make anyone forget Chris Lofton, but you have got to give him credit for daring to dream and daring to make it happen.

God bless the scramblers and hustlers who wind up doing better than anyone thought that they would.

Gives hope for the rest of us schmoes.

Congrats to him, a great work ethic and a tribute to hard work.

I would prefer to take this Skylar out to dinner though:

Proud of you 'Rutledge Rifle'... now lead us to a couple of wins in the SECT, and about 4 more in the NCAA tourney. Show the Legion of Buffoons how serviceable you can be...

I've typed a couple different posts but decided I didn't want to get in an argument. Instead I'll just say, Congrats to Skykar on living out what was probably childhood dream of wearing the Big Orange and playing in front of VolNation for 4 years.

I've wanted to type a few posts as well, but keep hitting the delete button after I've reread it a few times.

Congrats on graduating Skylar.
