Some of you have officially shown the world that we have one, if not the worst fan base in college football. Attacking a man's twitter account, Facebook, and the garbage on here is pathetic.

Look I wanted a big hire as much as anyone but you should have seen about day 2 of this search that wasn't going to happen.

He has been successful at every single level he has coached at, that alone is something we couldn't say about our previous two hirings.

Hell send Dave Hart the hate mail, he's the one who made this whole search an
Absolute mess. Just stop with all the hate for the man who just accepted the challenge to bring the University of Tennessee back to prominence.

Lastly as fans we have very little affect on things but we do affect two things emensely and that is our current players and our future players. We have kids on our team reading some of the trash put out there and how do you think that makes them feel. Our recruits are reading this crap, their parents are reading it and now the nation is thanks to some morons who won't give the man a chance.

I'm not thrilled with the hire, but I'm a proud Vol no matter what. Give the man a chance to show he can lead us back before you give up on him and our team. For the morons creating the find a new team please by all means do.

I will support the guy because I love UT.

To say it's an underwhelming hire is an understatement. Hoping for the best, expecting the worse.

People hating on this hire know nothing about Butch Jones. All they know is he's not Jon Gruden. I like him, he needs good recruiting staff though.

How many times would you let your wife cheat on you, lie to you and spit in your face. Before you would leave her and find a new wife? Does that help you better understand why a lot of us want better?

No, that does not help me understand why anyone one would attack him on social media whatsoever. And the fact that you try and justify it is just sad.

That's not true. I don't see how UT can try to sell their fanbase on any sort of commitment to winning when they hire this guy and leave both Bobby Petrino and Butch Davis looking for work. What an absolute joke.

I guess being passionate is being a bad fan now. To be a VFL you just need to lick up whatever Jimmy Cheek is willing to give you and be thankful

I remember seeing the same things posted about Dooley. Not buying it. Terrible hire. I do agree that the man doesn't deserve what he's getting on Twitter, though. Let Hart know how you feel, though I doubt he cares.

I won't do it. I'm not wasting my entire Saturdays watching noon kickoffs. I'm not going to Big Orange Caravans or any games. When Vandy is paying their coach more, UT is in serious trouble

I'm not telling people not to express their disappointment. I'm asking them not to embarrass The University of Tennessee any more than some already have. Give the man a freaking chance. There is NO reason to send the man that mess some are on twitter.

We are making headlines bc we have a fan base acting like morons, not bc we hired a bad coach. Almost all the analyst love the hire, the man wins, give him a chance.

What a freaking joke of a program we have become.Willing to accept anyone our Alabama AD and Fla.Chancelor throws out there for us.They think we will support any one they pick .What a joke.Gonna be lots of empty seats in that big ol stadium.
