I don't think its right attacking the guy on social media. Very wrong in fact. I was talking about staying loyal to Tennessee blindly.

Maybe it has something to do with their pasts... Petrino is a hibitual liar and butch davis has caused a mess everywhere he has been by looking the other way like an owl. I don't know for sure if that's why they didnt get a call but thats my guess. I wish we would have given Davis a call and an ultimatum that if he wants this job than he has to go about doing things the right way this time and not just idly sitting when he sees something he should intervene in. That may he naive of me but I would have at least talked to him.

Oh I gotcha. I'm as disappointed by this hire as anyone but it's not Davis's fault he was hired and going and attacking him on social media is just unacceptable. But yes anyone can and should voice their opinion on here about the hire or even on their own social media pages...just not his.

So you'd rather keep these 5-7 seasons coming than at least take a chance on one of these guys who have proven they can build programs and win?

has anyone even looked at this mans recored, hes a winner give him a chance,and if people dont remember Gruden no, Gundy no, Strong no, we should thank Jones for putting his self on the line for UT..

Our recruits are reading this crap, their parents are reading it and now the nation is thanks to some morons who won't give the man a chance.

I'm not thrilled with the hire, but I'm a proud Vol no matter what. Give the man a chance to show he can lead us back before you give up on him and our team. For the morons creating the find a new team please by all means do.

It has a lot to do with the fact that at both of his head coaching jobs (central michigan and cincinati) he came in and took over after Brian Kelly and reaped the benefits of what Kelly had sown. Kelly built both of those teams and Jones had things set up for him from the get-go. Oh that, and also that his team got blown out by a terrible Dooley coached tennessee team not too long ago.

I'm willing to wait and give the guy a chance here but I think this is why so many people are upset about the hire. Oh, and because his name isn't Gruden...because many people were going to be just as pissed if we hired Strong who is an excellent coach IMO.

They wanted Jon Gruden or something
of the sorts. They don't realize we have had 4 losing seasons in 5 years. The man has won at every stop, that isn't a coincidence.

Oh well, I'm just speaking from experience as a young coach. I inherited a 5-24 baseball team, went to 24-12 record and suddenly there wasnt one person to be found that questioned the hire. Winning cures all Butch, go do it.

Jones didn't inherit a 5-24 team. He inherited a loaded team set up by Brian Kelly at both of his stops as a head coach.

I'm just saying give him a chance. We have talent on this team on both sides of the ball. Sure we have holes, and needs but the cubbard is far from bare.

I will support Coach Jones and hope he is what we need. He's a Vol now.

I will not support Dave Hart. He specifically outlined his requirements and did not meet them. Being in business, that is unacceptable to me.
