Connecticut-Louisville

They actually did a good job of locking her down. She worked for all of her shots. The game was over before those missed free throws.Congrats on a great Career Miss Asia Durr. See you in the W!
No, it wasn't. Two makes right there and it's 77-75 with 15 seconds left.

Just FYI....looking at this Albany, NY bracket
Louisville....the #1 seed is playing 816 miles from home.
UConn........the #2 seed is playing 135 miles from home.

UConn's got the hot hand and practically home court advantage. They're playing the best they've looked all season (against teams that aren't in their cupcake conference). Asia Durr will need to turn on the engines in the 4th if they want a chance.
Does that include their win at Notre Dame
this year ?

Yep. Same thing in the next game. I’m not sure what that’s about. Obsvioily favorable to the lower seed.

That is the women's tournament for you... but better than it used to be. In 1993, Tennessee was a #1 seed and had to play a regional final against Iowa on their home court.

If UL was put close to home they would have to been dropped to #2 in Chicago. UL surely pre tourney would rather be #1 in Albany than #2 Chicago. FYI, Chicago has a massive ND alumni base.

You have to admire two well-coached teams. 12 straight final fours for UConn is hard to wrap my head around. Let's hope PF can find the big bucks to get Walz to become one of ours now.

Even worse actually MSST is 2,458 miles from home at the #1 seed and Oregon is 109 miles from Eugene.

For me, yes. I saw confidence and cohesive play today (and shots actually falling) that we didn't see when they played ND earlier this season. The chemistry is there now. UConn won that game because of Christyn Williams' breakout performance, but primarily because ND was playing extremely and uncharacteristically poorly, missing tons of free throws, poor passing, etc. But at that point in the season, ND was still the better team than UConn. Now? I'd say they are more evenly matched. If they do meet in the Final Four, it'll be a fantastic game.

How bout this...how bout we stop putting ANY regional in UConns backyard or letting them play within 100 miles from Storrs. Make their rabid fan base travel at least 300 miles

In the Portland Oregon regional.
The #1 seed Mississippi State is playing 2456 miles from home.
The #2 seed Oregon is playing 109 miles from home.

Again if MSUs stays close to home they are #2 in Greensboro and would have to face Baylor in Elite 8. They would rather be out west than have to face Baylor before Final 4

In the middle of the semester?

No, they can enter the transfer portal which means other coaches can talk to them and they’ve been given their release and they would be there for the next year. Maybe even get there for summer school.

I think if you asked Louisville if they preferred to be #1 in Albany region they would have said yes....

I saw Walz interviewed on it.... he liked it.... even though we may not

WCBB is about performance but also about money......

Cities/Arena's bid for Regional sites, teams need to promote cities near them to want to be sites. Arena's bid b/c they want to make money. The regional sites attendance vary wildly. Northeast cities, Bridgeport & Albany bid all the time b/c they almost always have the highest regional site attendance.

The committee has always leaned toward putting butts in seats (as much as possible).

I agree I’m tired of seeing them do this to teams. This game going on right now is a sea of green and Missippi State is 3 time zones off their normal schedule.

I’m not opposed to the games in the Sweet 16 on all being played in the same place. Somewhere neutral like Denver or Vegas.
