That Dooley was closer to a win against a better LSU team.
That Kiffin was closer to a win against a better Bama team.

Neither had their top 2 RBs and WRs out.
What does a close loss mean? Not much other than excess dissapointment. Unless someone wants to argue that case for South Alabama. Until some coach cracks through with a significant win, UT won't turn the corner.

I'd be interested in knowing how many freshmen and walk-ons contributed to each of the three games mentioned.

The coaches didn't lose the game, and the players really didn't lose it either. We had a really unfortunate play that resulted in bad luck, but we haven't seen effort like this in a LONG time. I think we really did turn the corner.

Don't ever compare those two losers to Butch Jones...you should be Butch slapped!

I was thinking the same thing. The difference I see is the quality of team that each coach had.

Kiffin had Eric Berry, Crompton, Dan Williams, & Montario Hardesty
Dooley had D. Moore, G. Jones, T. Bray, Stocker

I think Jones had the least to work with

Some people will never be pleased with anything. I saw all positives in the game. Go Vols, you did us proud. Everyone on the team ,that had on the orange, gave their all for Tennessee. I say we are on our way to bigger things, for sure !!!!

Do Vol Nation a favor, and stop rooting for Tennessee. Your incredibly narrow vision is blurring any attempt at reason.

Really? Thats what you got out of the game yesterday.. Either you're a troll or you haven't watched UT football in a while. That was the best game played by Ut in years. Yeah, it came at a loss, but we were competitive with the #6 team in the country and nobody can say different. Our football team has been underachieving for half a decade now, and yesterday they played up to their potential against a more talented Uga team and all you have to say is that?? smh

Did you also consider that Lane and Maggitt were out and that we weren't expected to even hang with Georgia? It was a good game for the team and only would have been better with a win.

Id say they played above their potential, which is why the future is so promising.

What about Lane, Couch, Young, Maggitt, and Saulsberry? Think they made a difference for us?

So, you're saying we are 4-5 players short of being a top SEC / Nationally ranked team? We also had a few starters out also. :salute:

Give Jones all those players and we win all the games OP mentions, IMO.

So this is what we are going to argue about for the next two weeks? The negavols who we're hating on Butch and Worley before the game are now hating on the fans who believe in this team and it's players? A lot of us are proud at not only how they played, but what the rest of the season could look like. Come'on OP, nobody likes a loss...

OP kiss my Big Orange Ash! That team played the #6 team in the country to a draw and should have won. You can't take that away with your poopoo parade. F u!
