I'm not arguing otherwise. Just saying that I believe you misunderstood the intent of what he was trying to say.

Your point is valid that if the SEC, does in fact, get five teams in and Tennessee and Mississippi St continue to win, they will be competing for that final spot.

I'm just saying that there is no magical, automatic fifth spot reserved for the SEC, and I believe that is what golfballs is saying.

THIS. If Miss St does something stupid they don't automatically go down the SEC list...an Arizona, Illinois etc is 100x more probable. We need a strong showing in the Sec championship game, and/or winning it.

If all those teams lost the sec could get 6 or 7 there is no magic number, it's the best teams that get at large bids.

Well true. I am conceding that Florida will mist likely lose to UK. If they were to win, that changes things. That's not the way I was thinking, but you're right. That is the only way and is still contingent on Tennessee winning out to the championship game.
