Coronavirus (No politics)

My wife and I are on day five of Covid (first time having it) and man I was hoping for the sniffles for a couple of days and move on but this **** is powerful. We’re both vaccinated but it still feels like a bad flu; fever, exhaustion, headaches, body aches, dizzy, we even lost our sense of smell and taste yesterday on day four. Ate a couple sour patch kids last night and couldn’t taste them. So odd.

Our daughter had it recently. Took about 2 weeks. Still working on her stamina. Don't be concerned if you have a setback around Day 7-8. She did along with many people we know. It will pass.

My baby daughter just had it for the second time, she had it first in April of 20 at the beginning of the pandemic, and her first go-round was a little rough like yours, and since then she has had all three shots...This time she said it was basically nothing, and she wouldn't have believed she even had it if both tests hadn't come back positive.

She had to test because her fiancé had gotten it from a friend at work. He is vaxxed and said he wouldn't have known it was Covid either if he hadn't have had to take the tests.

I think the longer we deal with this thing the less virulent it will be.

Day 4 here, it’s subsided quite a bit. Headache was the pits for me. Still have taste. Just two straight days of fatigue now.

That sucks. Hope everything gets better. We had it go through my house and were lucky it was mild cases. Wife was like a bad cold. Daughter basically just ran low grade fevers. Son was sick one night for 2 hours then was fine but I think his was a stomach bug since he had Delta before and was fine after vomiting a few times. Somehow I have continued to test negative but not out of woods yet.

One thing to do is even when you feel you are getting better don’t take foot off gas of continued immune boosting and getting the funk out of lungs. Seen a few think they were getting better then stop doing what they were doing and it turned into pneumonia in lungs

Hate to hear this for you and your wife. I too am on Day 5 and I am tired with a sore throat. It is strange how this flu affects all differently.

The thing that helped me the most when I did experience the body aches is Extra Strength Tylenol and Advil….one of each. My doctor put me on to this several years ago. He said these two together “supercharge” the pain relief and the inflammation. It works. Give it a shot.

Hope you all are fully recovered soon.

Lost my taste and smell on Thanksgiving Day and started getting high temps later that night. I had 4 miserable days of sinus pressure, fatigue, and high temps. Then on the 5 day it started letting up and we both were vaccine. Didn't get my taste and smell back for like 2 months.

Tested positive last Saturday. I had 103.5° fever for a day along with multiple common symptoms. It's been 7 days and I'm a little better. Still have headache, congestion and cough. Lack of energy is the worst thing I'm now dealing with. Lost my sense of smell on day 2. I am fully vaccinated, but will not get boosted since I now have natural immunity.

hate to say, imagine had you not been vaxxed?

Glad you're better.

Old friend lost her 40 yo brother last week. Dont know if he was vaxxed or not. Super in shape, no rhyme or reason. Had people lose all their teeth, hair, multiple surgeries. Its legit.

I try to stay out of this area but coming back from a COVID funeral this morning we stopped to briefly chat with a neighbor checking her mail.

She, too, had a COVID funeral today.

Ours was obese, 60+, anti-"all of this nonsense" and it finally got her.

Her friend was fully vaxxed and "did everything right," elderly and not out much, but apparently got it from extended time spent with family "after things got safer."

If you're compromised, please stay safe. Nobody likes going to funerals.

My condolences for those who have lost loved ones/friends to this virus ……

Tested positive on Monday and am still very weak with a sore throat.

Wife had COVID earlier in the year and now has a “phantom smell”. It is driving her crazy.

Anyone else had this experience?

Upon diagnosis, the quicker a person starts taking vitamins/meds, the quicker the road to recovery. As I stated earlier, both my parents (both vaxxed too) had it last week and they were immediately prescribed hydroxychloroquine and the "covid cocktail of vitamins". Within a couple days, they felt entirely better.

Also, the issue with smell varies person to person, but my sister had Covid in November 2020 and still has not regained her taste or smell. Very sad but we're hoping it returns.

Hope the "phantom smell" goes away soon.

Prayers for your sis….must be terrible.

What is the “COVID cocktail fo vitamins ”? I was given C / D / and Zinc. Did not touch my sore throat so I went with a Z Pack. Starting to feel better today.

C - 1000mg
D3 - 4000IU
B12 - 1000mcg
zinc 50mg
Quercetin 50mg
Pepcid 20mg (x2 daily)
Melatonin 10mg

This is what my parents were prescribed and hope it works. I have family in medical field but I am not one and don't want to mislead anyone thinking otherwise. Please consult PCP when in doubt. Get well soon!!

As for my sister, I can't imagine having lost taste or smell for over a year.
