Not a big deal I agree but newsworthy because:

1. He is CinC - he should know this basic military term. He twice repeated the mistake - clearly he isn't familiar with the term.

2. It shows this heart-warming story he is using to make a point is something he knows nothing about - something some speech writing flunky threw in.

3. He's supposed to be the smartest guy in the room and a great orator. We've seen him stumble badly without the teleprompter. In this case even the teleprompter couldn't help.

Since when did the dude become such a stickler. Very un-dude-like, man.

And i guess Obama's been doing well lately since this is the type threads people have turned to. Did the fact bush could never pronounce nuclear, effect his ability? I personally mispronounce words all the time. I forgot that no one else does.

Bush isn't President anymore and even those of us who voted for him knew he routinely mangled the language.

Obama has been called "god-like", the "smartest person ever to have become President", and so on. So for him to make such a basic pronunciation error, even with TOTUS present, is worth noting.
