I cringe at how most yankees pronounce words, but that doesnt make me change my opinion of them. Have you heard or read a engineer? They sound mildly retarded at times, but more often than not its the opposite.

Everyone makes mistakes - sure. People pronounce things differently - sure.

In this case, he didn't know the word. He mispronounced it because the word (a basic military term) was unfamiliar to him.

It's not a big deal but I would bet some corpsmen wonder about his understanding of the military - you know that thing he is CinC of.

I don't see how someone even remotely plugged in to reality would not know how to pronounce corpsmen. It honestly makes me wonder if we wasn't even thinking about what he was reading and was focusing on something else. That's just wild.
