Taking a look at Florida's schedule for the rest of the year, it's not completely implausible that they could fall to 6-6 or 5-7, and Will Muschamp could be on the hot seat.

vs. Georgia
vs. Vanderbilt
@ South Carolina
vs. Georgia Southern
vs. Florida State

The good news for the Gators is that 3 of the next 5 are at home (with one neutral site game in Jacksonville). They also have a freebie versus Georgia Southern. But three of those games look very difficult and even the Vandy one could be problematic.

I know our Vols are probably going to do no better than 6-6 or 7-5, but we're also rebuilding. Based on recruiting rankings, the Gators actually appear to be the 2nd most talented team in the SEC. For them to go 6-6 would be a surprise.

I do think the Gators are good enough to beat all those teams, but if you asked me to pick a favorite in every game, I'd pick UGA, SCe, and Florida State over Florida. Then again, maybe they'll surprise us and beat UGA and SC, and win the SEC East.

I see FSU UGA and SC being potential losses. Vandy would be icing on the cake.

Where's the gator faithful? Let's hear their take. I think 6-6 is likely and Muschamp will have to send someone packing on the offensive side.

Life will really suck if ****ing Vanderbilt beats them before we do. Next year's game is already the ten year anniversary of our last victory against them. I don't care how Florida does unless they are in line to win something. It sure would be nice to finish ahead of them though.

I'm going 6-6 or 7-5. UGA-UF will be the ugliest game ever, but someone has to win it. Carolina and FSU are near-guaranteed losses.

If the South Carolina game was at home, I think they barely scrape by but not so sure this Florida team can beat the Gamecocks on the road. Very likely.

Now that they are falling into the place where we were at, you won't be seeing much of them on here anymore. The subtle kicking us when we were down is over.

Yeah...beginning to think you are right. Haven't seem them posting much at all since FL went in the tank again. Reading their boards I think a lot of them are truly wondering if last year was smoke and mirrors.

UF fell below .500 during Muschamp first year and with the injuried this season it's easy to see how this team could finish 6-6. But we ain't losing to Vandy or GaSouthern so at least the bowl streak is still alive. Muschamp will get another year based on last season and the long list of injuried players. BTW UF and UT both have a chance not to make a bowl this season.

Injury tally this season:

Andre Debose
Chaz Green
Matt Jones
Jeremi Powell
Nick Washington
DJ Humphries( 2-4 weeks)
Jeff Driskel
Marcus Roberson*
Colin Thompson*
Dom Easley
Matt Rolin

Will Muschamp spoke Monday about the need to simplify the offense by completely doing away with it heading into this week's preparation for Georgia on Saturday. "We're just not going to put an offense out there. We need our offensive players ready and rested to play special teams and provide depth on defense. That's the mark of a true blue collar team. Winning with special teams and defense and that's what we plan to do from here on out." Muschamp outlined his plan to win by saying the defense needs to force a punt or create a turnover. If the punt returner or defender doesn't return it for a touchdown, they would immediately punt on first down and hope the opposing team muffs it. This would continue for the entirety of the game. "I believe in putting your players in a position to succeed and putting our offense on the field is not fair to any of these players." Offensive coordinator Brent Pease planned to take his offense on a nature walk before Saturday's game to find the end zone, but that has been scratched after Muschamp's decision.

They got it figured out :)

Only play O vs UT and Ky.

Looking at records only , Muschamp and Zook are pretty close. Would you be shocked if Foley pulls the trigger if he has someone willing to take the job? Injuries are indeed awful but I am wondering what's up with this offense in year 2 of Pease tenure? Recruiting wise what do you have coming in other than Grier ? Tough spot for Muschamp. He's going to earn every penny over the next month.

I agree that UF blows this season for many reasons..Muschamp has to make some changes on staff and his philosophy. If not Chip Kelly will be the next coach at UF.

Fantasy land. Kelly get at least 3 years at Philly. As much talent as Florida has no reason for 6-6. I enjoy nothin more than see the gators lose. I hope y'all lose to uga,sc and vandy. The joy of watching y'all meltdown would be gold. Only thing that would be better is if y'all hired someone that flops worse than muschamp. Before you say foley will make a good hire blah blah. There is always a risk of getting a dud.

Florida's offensive line has been awful this year, a combination of injuries and bad schemes for the talent we have.

Here's a decent article about the crapiness of the O-line and the effect it has had on offensive production.

Gators left tackle D.J. Humphries out 2-4 weeks with knee injury - Orlando Sentinel

I think most UF fans are like me, a combination of understanding that recruiting prior to now has been in the image of a run option offense, but getting frustrated that not much seems to be getting done to change that long term.

Where are the speedsters? The passing QB's? I miss fun 'n gun and cannot understand why we are not moving back in that direction. Even the QB recruit we've landed is listed as dual threat. Stop it. Go get a smart kid with a sharp eye and who can throw. Then bring back the track stars we used to have at WR.

I'll go on record saying I do not want Chip Kelley at FL! On Foley hiring the right guy...if Muschamp bombs then Foley would be 1 for 3 on his hires. Does that make you nervous for the next hire? I think it's much tougher to hire a good coach than most of us want to believe. I would say there may only be 10-20 good head coaches in CFB. They earn their money for sure.

Fantasy land? Kinda like Gruden to UT.

What talent? Funny everytime I see a rival we beat post this statement as a fact... Not much on O and thats been the biggest issue. Meyer recruited spread players and until last cycle Muchamp didn't have size and the skill position but instead of him allowing Pease to gear the O towards his players he wants to be Bama southeast. That falls on him but with the injuries he had this season, he'll get another year.

Look at y'all recruiting rankings. Regardless what system they were recruited for. Talent is talent . Play to your strengths.
One question. If UF loses to the vols next year, will y'all be demanding champ get fired?

We both know rankings mean almost nothing. It about development and depth. The jury is still out on him as UF HC but I'll give him a pass this season bc of the injuries and getting his players finally but if he doesn't win atleast 9and play on NSD next season then he needs to be gone.

Skimmed through this thread before class and I had to stop because I was loling so hard at Chip Kelly to UF

Harder than Gruden to UT?

It will be the best job on the market in 2014-15...and hell be looking the way Philly has looked. Win-win.

Very tough but teams have to work through injuries. Similar to what we experienced in 2011 when we had all these injuries 2 years ago:

Justin Hunter
Tyler Bray
Brent Brewer
Herman Lathers
Daniel Hood
Mo Couch
Marlin Lane
Curt Maggitt
Greg King

Later that year we had to get a frat guy off the couch to be our place kicker.
