I guess he could be. Whoever heupel chooses I’m fine with, he has a reputation of having productive quarterbacks.

Right now Hooker's pass accuracy is better than both those and Maurer keeps having concussions on the run.

That cross the field pass by Hooker shows he has a strong arm while maintaining accuracy.

He might not be the starter but looks like the best dual-threat since Tee. Lol, got to get some tall and wide-bodied receivers.

He's way better than Dobbs.
The starting job is Hendon Hooker’s and it’s not even close. Has a damn strong accurate arm. His running abilities A- with a shady O-Line and B- to be an extra fast strong running threat to keep defenses honest is exactly what this team needs. His style of play is energizing and motivating. It will pump life into our guys. Been flat lining for so long our offensive players will finally get to have some fun.

I can see Hooker being the starter in week 1, but Bailey getting a lot playing time in that game.
Hooker might even be the starter in week 2 as well, again with Bailey getting some heavy playing time.
By the time we hit week 3, unless Hooker just absolutely is rolling, it will Bailey starting to cement the future.

Also whomever rolls out at starter in week 3 will start against Florida.
We'll see Salter later in the year for sure as well.

I've watched large chunks of a few games. Heupel's O over the past couple of years is virtually tailor made for Hooker. He's going to be hard to beat.
@Shocker0 found this post today... I forgot I'd said it. Kinda proud of it now though. Shout out to @Arrested Devolopment for the other post he found too concerning opposing fans "laughing" at the Heupel hire.

Still cracking up at the love for Maurer. Maurer didn't start because he wasn't as good as JG, not that those coaches could do right for either of them.

Has Harrison Bailey won the job yet??? Word is that he is better than Hooker and Heupel only brought Milton in to challenge The Anointed Future QB of the Vols… Harrison Bailey.

I loved him, well, better said, I liked him. He was a gunslinger, given to misfiring at times. So was Brett Favre, George Blanda, and Johnny Unitas. That comes with the territory when you have a fearless QB. Maurer's problem was he was too willing to go for it, even when a WR was well covered. JG's problem was, uh, well, much as I respect the guy, he was a deer in headlights. Back to Maurer, I think he had two additional issues that affected his play. The parasitic mean girlfriend, and his suicidal mental state. We didn't know all that at the time, but now that we do, neither his issues nor his mental state is a laughing matter.
