Could Joe Milton switch to Tight End or WR?

How Joe Milton could play an important role in Tennessee's offense in 2022

Its obvious that Milton will not make it as a starting QB....however it sucks to have such a big talent sitting on the bench. Hopefully we can switch him to TE or WR.
Guy doesn't like contact so why the hell would you want to put him in a position that has even more contact than he gets now? Most certainly a square peg being forced into a round hole. Why bother. Recruit a real TE or a real WR. Guy needs to transfer to another program or even better for his chances to play, down a level.

He doesn't like contact. Go back and look at some his runs from QB. He pulls up and turns his back when tackler closes in. How could he be a good receiver at any position and not be able to take a hit. Big physical specimen but scared.

Yeah, I wish he would seek out contact like Peyton did. That is a high priority from Cut’s QB training for sure. Ever seen a Peyton highlight reel where he did not abuse defenders?

Peyton had other attributes that Milton does not have, that makes a difference. I never seen manning back in to getting tackled or act scared of getting hit either. I have with Milton. Milton should stay at QB and hopefully work on his weaknesses. GBO

I believe he could contribute at another position but he has to want to, he doesn't seem to be too fond of contact. Kid is definitely an athletic freak at 6'5 250.

Not gonna lie...that's a solid back flip...

My guess is next year he helps us win a couple games if hooker gets banged up. I still think if he corrected the overthrows he could lead us to an sec championship. The arm, the athletic ability, just gotta put it together on the discipline side (that’s all overthrows and making the right reads are).

I don't care to enter the fray about Milton and the TE position etc....but IMHO I don't think PM dodging contact as much as possible is a good comparison here. JMO. One of Milton's attributes is RPOing and PM probable never heard the term RPO...I could be wrong though.

Manning might not have been a feared scrambler, but he would have never run out of bounds with the game on the line to avoid a hit.

CTV has a better chance of making him a closer out of the bullpen than CJH has of making him a TE.

I don't think anyone who matters is ready to give up on Milton at QB.

Yes it does matter, there is one exception and one exception only.... whatever coach thinks matters....

Edited to add.... sorry I misread your post and actually agree with you that the staff will make the necessary calls on him.
